"Here's the divorce agreement! Let's part ways."

With zero sentiment, Maverick Mendoza calmly placed a document on the table.

Brynlee Green had steeled herself for this moment.

But despite her mental preparation, her heart gave a painful lurch at the sight of the divorce papers.

It wasn't a happily ever-after marriage. All these years in the Mendoza family, her mother-in-law was quite hostile to her, as she didn't conceive and bear a child for the family.

Furthermore, there was a woman who had always occupied her husband, Maverick's heart. She was Beatrice Green, Maverick's crush.

Brynlee was very naive when she was young. She thought that if she tried hard enough, he would be moved by her and would fall in love with her.

But now, she had truly woken up to it. He remained indifferent.

She looked at Maverick with teary eyes, her lips trembling as she asked him, "You want a divorce because I didn't give you a child, isn't it?"

Maverick wore a frigid expression on his face and spoke with a cold tone. "Brynlee, stop pretending to be the victim! You know better than anyone why we got into this marriage."

Brynlee forced a bitter smile. She clearly remembered Maverick's grandpa was seriously ill then, and the Mendoza family believed a new bride would bring blessings.

But she wasn't the bride who was chosen to marry into the Mendoza family.

It was Beatrice, her 'sister'.

Beatrice was the darling daughter nurtured by the Green family for more than 20 years. However, in a pre-marital check-up, it was shockingly revealed that Beatrice bore no familial ties with the Green family.

The Green family was extremely shocked. They couldn't bear to have their own precious daughter left wandering outside, so they sent people to search everywhere and finally found her.

She, Brynlee Green, was the genuine heiress of the Green family.

Thus, she naturally became the bride that the Mendoza family intended to marry.

On the eve of her wedding, Beatrice came over with an annoyed expression, hoping that Brynlee could break off the engagement! However, she disagreed, and Beatrice ended up harming herself as she intentionally broke her leg in front of Brynlee. The Green family then sent Beatrice abroad for treatment.

The elders of the Green family didn't know Beatrice's scheme, and they all blamed Brynlee for being cruel to Beatrice!

Now, she was rejected by the Mendoza family because she did not produce any heirs.

But Maverick hadn't been intimate with her since their wedding day, so how could she possibly be pregnant?

"Hah, that's ridiculous!" She thought with a bitter smile.

She eventually realized she shouldn't invest her emotions in a man who didn't love her. It was completely a waste!

But she was reluctant to accept a divorce so readily.

Why did he have all the say in their marriage?

She picked up the divorce agreement and laughed coldly, "Look, I'm open to getting a divorce, but Maverick, how do you plan to compensate me for all these years I've spent taking care of you tirelessly?"

"How much money do you want?" Maverick was not stingy.

"Hah, it's nothing concerned about money!" after finishing her words, she grabbed his collar and leaned in to kiss him without any hesitation.

Maverick strongly resisted and pushed her aside, "What the hell are you doing!"

She provocatively asked, "Shouldn't I get some reward after devoting myself as a good wife throughout our marriage all these years? This is reasonable, right? Why are you resisting so strongly? Or maybe... you are incapable in bed?"

Maverick chuckled mockingly, "Brynlee, you're really shameless! You beg me to sleep with you? Are you this horny, huh?"

"Hey, cut it out! It seems like you're really incapable! That's why you are covering it!" Brynlee looked at him meaningfully, speaking in a tone of disdain, "Hah, it turns out the rumors are true! You're a useless and impotent man."

Maverick glared at her, grinding his teeth, "Humph! Alright then, you asked for it. I'm giving you what you want today!"

With that, he ruthlessly tore her clothes apart, and without any foreplay, he penetrated her body aggressively...

She shuddered in great pain and instinctively tried to dodge, but it was too late.

To humiliate her, Maverick deliberately made her lie face down on the bed, covering her head with a pillow, relentlessly violating her body!

After a night of fierce battle in bed, Brynlee collapsed first, exhausted, and fell into a deep sleep.

Early the next day, she woke up while Maverick beside her was still asleep.

She discreetly took a bath and then took out the packed luggage from the wardrobe. She quietly walked into the living room and signed the divorce agreement on the coffee table.

Before leaving, she deliberately left a note and five dollars as a "token of appreciation."

The note read, "To my dear Maverick, your abilities are too poor to satisfy me. With your level of skills, you might scare away your clients! Here are five-dollar tips to thank you for your efforts. P/S, you don't have to thank me!"

Later the day, when Maverick woke up, he found that Brynlee had already left.

He rubbed his brow, and a trace of regret showed on his face. How could he lose control over a few provoking words from Brynlee?

She was definitely going to use this matter to blackmail him and make him continue with their marital relationship.

As he dressed and went downstairs, he discovered the divorce agreement with her signature on the table, together with the note and five dollars.

"A five-dollar tip for the efforts?" He murmured.

"Too poor to make me satisfy?"

"Might scare away the clients?" he raised his voice while reading.

Did Brynlee wish to die in his hand?!

Otherwise, how could she dare to utter such nonsense?

Maverick angrily tossed the divorce agreement aside. He didn't even care to have his signature on it. He was livid and wished he could kill her right now.

Seeing his master's awful expression, the butler hurriedly stepped forward and asked, "Sir, what happened? What made you so angry?"

"Tell me! Where is Brynlee?" Maverick asked furiously.

The butler reported truthfully, "As soon as Ma'am woke up, she took her luggage and left. She told me to let you know that she will never come back."

Maverick chuckled coldly. "Brynlee Green, you really know how to dash, huh?"

"Go bring that b*tch back to me!"

A month later, in Mordor.

Brynlee was holding the fresh pregnancy test report in a daze.

The doctor tapped on the desk and said earnestly, "It's not advisable to have an abortion. Terminating the pregnancy now may lead to infertility in the future."

"After all, these are a rare set of quadruplets!"

Brynlee's hand was trembling as she held the pregnancy report.

Now in a foreign land, she found herself all alone, with no family to lean upon.

She could only imagine the trials a single mother might face in bringing a child into this world.

Seated in the hospital corridor, her mind was weighed heavy with contemplation.

As she gazed down at her swelling belly, she found herself torn over how to proceed with the life growing within her...
