......

Valerie Baldwin, who had just turned 21, laid on the operating table. She trembled uncontrollably, her eyes filled with fear and despair, tears streaming down her pale face.

She, five months pregnant, had no chance to resist. They drugged her and bundled her into the operating room.

A doctor, cold and expressionless, approached with a frigid surgical knife, asking, "Valerie Baldwin, mid-term abortion, right?"

"No, it's wrong. I don't want to abort. Doctor, look, the baby is still moving!"

Valerie sobbed.. Even though she'd been given anesthesia, she still forced herself to stay awake. She feared that once she did, she would have to say goodbye to the baby in her belly forever!

The doctor glanced at Valerie, and her gaze swept over her visibly pregnant belly. There, indeed, was faint movement.

"Ultrasound showed severe heart defects in this fetus. Your husband and mother-in-law both signed off on this, what more are you crying for?" the doctor stated coldly.

Valerie shook her head incessantly, so much that she could barely breathe.

"It's not true, the baby is healthy. They forced me to induce just because I'm carrying a girl. Doctor, please, can you wait a little longer? My father is on his way, okay?"

The doctor didn't even bother to look at her, "The anesthesia has been administered, the surgical fee has been paid, do you think this operation can be stopped? Don't blame me, if you must blame someone, blame your bad luck."

As if afraid of further delays, the doctor didn't wait for the anesthesia to fully take effect. She forcefully cut open Valerie's abdomen with a sharp surgical knife.

At the moment the abdomen was sliced open, intense pain surged through Valerie. She let out a heart-wrenching scream and cried, "Please, spare my child!"

But it was in vain, all of it was in vain. In this hidden small clinic, the doctors and nurses only cared about money. They've long lost their conscience!

A moment later, the doctor, without any compassion, pulled out a tiny, underdeveloped infant.

The baby was only five months into gestation, but immediately after leaving his mother's womb, an incredibly tiny cry, akin to a kitten's, was emitted. After this one faint wail, the infant went silent.

"Ah, it's a boy! And he's actually alive!" a nurse couldn't help but exclaim.

The doctor, still indifferent, said, "Why keep him? What did they say when they paid? Do you still want your salary?"

Valerie struggled to turn her head and saw the nurse's hand placed on the infant's mouth and nose.

"No!"

This "no" seemed to drain all the strength from Valerie. She begged hoarsely, desperately trying to rescue her helpless child from the clutches of the devil.

But the nurse's grip tightened, and everything became inevitable. There was nothing more to save.

At that moment, Valerie's heart felt as if it had been squeezed tightly by someone's hand.

She stared intently at the little mass of flesh tossed into the trash can, so silent and so hopeless.

At that moment, Valerie's shattered heart was suddenly filled with an unquenchable hatred. With all her strength, she cried out, "Frank Lindsay, I hate you!"

Immediately after, someone screamed in panic, "She's hemorrhaging a lot! Can't stop it, we can't stop the bleeding!"

Valerie felt light and weightless, as if she were lying on a cloud. Her body no longer ached, and she was no longer cold. Instead, she felt warm and cozy, making her want to fall asleep.

In her arms, the tiny child lay beside her, sleeping peacefully and serenely.
