Stormy-Rein

Staring into the mirror, I noticed I had gotten more skinnier than before. Possibly it was because I was putting on my usual baggy tomboy clothing which totally hid every part of my body.

I tied my shock of black hair into a ponytail, and then grabbed a granola bar off my table, skipping breakfast because I was already running late for work. And my grumpy old boss, Mr gabe would scold me as he always did.

The gush of the wind hit me when I made my way out, and I suddenly had this feeling that today would turn out to be nice.

When I closed the my door shut and was heading towards the subway station to get a bus to work, when I saw a guy opening staring at a blonde girl whose boobs were almost on full display, from the kind of short skimpy strapless gown she had on. The girl was walking on the road like she had no care in the world.

And I wonder what was going on in her head. She was probably feeling on top of the world.

The guy's girlfriend noticed her boyfriend ogling at the blonde, agitated, she smacked him so hard on the face that it averted everyone's attention to them.

This sight made my bubble with laughter, because it was such a funny sight to be seen.

As I carry on heading to the bus station, I see a billboard of Lily Jayson, with her five star luxury hotel on display.

Holding on to the straps of my backpack, I look away to stare ahead of me.

Lily Jayson, she was very beautiful and wealthy. Owned one of the massive hotels in Hartford. And rumour had it that her dad, Mr Tucks Jayson was a billionaire CEO, that he owned more than twenty companies in the states and had thousands of workers under him.

I had tried my possible best to get her attention, so I could write some stuff about her. But it was to no avail because she was a very important person who always had roughly six body guards tagging alongside her.

Even her five star luxury hotel was only for the wealthy. Commoners like me weren't even allowed in, except we had a thousand bucks to book a room.

I managed to walk down the streets to the nearest subway station and hopped on the bus.

Inside the bus, an elderly woman was giving me a weird look. Maybe because I was clad in masculine clothings.

When I took the seat behind her, she still shift her gaze backwards to face me. Making me wonder what the hell was even her problem.

"Dear girl, are you in your right state of mind?"She asked me, squeezing her face into disgust as she stared at me through her shoulder like she just saw a pile of shit in human form.

Glaring at her, I chose not to reply her and stared out the window, and bite the insides of my cheeks until I could it hurt.. I was so not in the mood to exchange words, or worst, get more angry by some meddling old woman. It was even no business of hers if I was wearing masculine clothing or not.

When the bus stopped, I hopped out of it and made my way to the office.

Suprisingly the door swung open before I could open it myself, and out came London, my colleague and the closest thing I had to a friend.

He gave me a look, that read I was already late for work and Mr Gabe was going to give me some warnings as usual. Something I was already used to.

"You're late again, Stormy-Rein. Gabe's gonna give you some good lashing with his words."He provided when I went to join him at the door and we made our way in together.

I made no response as I took casual strides, not even running when I stood in front of Mr Gabe's office and saw he was on the phone with someone.

He dismissed me with a wave of the hand instantly when he saw me, and I head straight to my office feeling a tad relieved that he had somehow pardoned my late coming.

"How far have you gone with Lily Jayson?"London asked, rolling up the his sleeves as he sat on my desk.

"Still trying, but it's quite complicated because she's a very private person."I replied, keeping my backpack beside my seat.

London nodded, and took a huge bite out of a burger I didn't know he was holding. He watched me with caution as he chewed like a goat undergoing therapy.

"What?"I asked, shooting him a flat look.

"Nothing, just that you look pale and even skinnier."He replied bluntly with his voice muffled.

While I just shook my head and rolled my eyes in their sockets. Because I knew I was skinny, I just didn't like people pointing it out. I ate a whole lot, and times two of the usual when angry, but there was no iota of fat in me. It felt like I was to be skinny forever, and would never fill out nicely.

"You know, concerning the case where a girl was found dead in Lily's hotel, Lily has a powerful attorney backing her up with the name Cole."London supplied, finishing the last of his sweaty burger. His gaze was even more serious this time.

"Cole Lockwood?"I inquired, because I was quite familiar with the name.

"Cole Lockheart."He corrected, then forked his fingers through his hair to pull it backwards. "There is more to this dude, like he once belong to a deadly gang. And to top it all, there are rumors that Lily has the hots for him."

Suddenly getting interested in wanting to know about this Alpha Cole Lockheart guy because Lily is interested in him, I tuck my tongue inside my cheek, fold my arms across my chest and shoot London a look, then said.

"Getting some information about this Lockheart guy might give me an opportunity to meet with the almighty Lily Jayson."
