I am Dean Pugh, 21 years old. I am in the Law University. I want to become a lawyer and defend anyone who's innocent and that's why I am working too hard. To be honest, I am one of the best students in my university, I am usually in the top 10.

"Mom, where is the letter?" - Dean

"Here, take it." - Mom

She handed me the letter. It is apparently about a survival quiz that I did on the pc when I was bored. I am a fan of survival series and games. I could spend the entire day doing that, but let me read the letter.

Get ready, in 2 days, the world that you know will disappear, get ready for the new world.

What the fuck was that? What do they mean with that? Bullshit, I shouldn't give it importance. I threw it in the paper bin.

"Was it something important?" - Mom

"Nah, no worries, mummy, what are you cooking? It smells nice" - Dean

"Pasta haha!" - Mom

When we ate, I went out for a walk. My mom and I have lived alone for a long time, my dad has died in an accident, and his friend has been helping us with the money. Thanks to him I can study in the university and my mom doesn't have to work, I really owe him a lot.

I have been thinking about the letter, what if it was real? What will happen? Should I give it importance? I mean, the website of that quiz looked normal, but wait, how did they know where I live? I do not remember filling it out, when I get back home I will check it.

When I came back home, the first thing I did was greet my mom.

"Hola, mum!" - Dean

"Hey, honey, how was the day?" - Mom

"I did some sport, and I helped the neighbors, they will bring us some gifts they said haha" - Dean

"Well done! Now go take a break, and you should study, you have an exam next week." - Mom

"Ehhh… That's true, I have less than 5 days to study. Yes, mom, I will go right now and study." - Dean 

But what if the letter was true? Then I won't have to study or do any exam. What am I saying? I am going to become the best lawyer in the world, I shouldn't be saying that, after all I am a model to follow for my fellow comrades. 

"Don't stress yourself, if you need anything I will be in my room." - Mom

"Alright, mom" - Dean

I went to my room, and the first thing I did was turn up the pc and search for that quiz website, it was apparently deleted. Well, what did I wait for? I have to study and not waste time. 

I passed the entire night reading and studying for the exam till I felt tired and slept. 

Good morning, it was a long night. 

"Dean! Are you awake? Breakfast is waiting for you! Mister Arran is here!" - Mom

"I am coming!" - Dean

Arran Norman, he's my dad's friend, he has been keeping us and taking care of us after the death of my father. He has been working with my father as a cop, they have spent a lot of years working as comrades. They have been called the golden duo of Minnesota. But sadly my father died.

"Hey Mister Arran." - Dean

"How many times did I tell you to call me Norman, aren't we friends?" - Norman

"I am sorry Mister Norman haha." - Dean

" I said N.O.R.M.A.N without the Mister." - Norman

We started laughing. To be honest, he taught me everything, and he has been acting as my father. I only call him mister in front of my mom because she always tells me to respect him.

"How's your studies going?" - Norman

"Is that even a question? Like always, I am the best haha." - Dean

"What do we have here? Mister top 1?" - Norman

"Fuck you." - Dean

"Dean?" - Mom

"We are only joking, Loni." - Norman

Did he call my mother Loni? She really hates that, her real name is Leona Morri. Anyone who changes her name is dead. 

"Haha, Dean, we have something to tell you." - Leona

"Yes, mom?" - Dean

What? Are they getting married or what? 

"Norman suggested me to travel with him to California to have some break, but I am worried about you, because you can't come with us because of your studies." - Leona

Thanks to god.

"You can go and have fun, mom." - Dean

But wait, what if the letter is true? I am giving it a lot of importance.

"Thanks, Dean. Loni get your stuff ready, we have to go now. Also, Dean. I left provisions in the garage, they can feed you for a few weeks." - Norman  

"Alright, thanks. I will miss you mom but make sure to have fun." - Dean

My mom has gone with Norman, and they left the home. I went up to the garage to check the provisions, there was a lot of food there, I took some fried potatoes and snacks and went up to my room. I will have some fun and play, and I will study tomorrow.

But what if the letter is true? I am an idiot, we will see if that's true tomorrow. I spent the entire night playing and eating till I slept.

Good morning! That was a nice night and nothing happened.

Suddenly I heard an explosion outside, and I heard noises on the radio.

<Everyone should stay home, we do not know what's happening, but there is some stuff killing and eating humans, keep calm and stay home, it is very dangerous outside. Th- *NOISES*...>
