"This is it, I saw everything what happened in there!"

The curtains flapped cautiously as the old man spoke, perhaps the air was terrified too upon the upcoming declaration. Delcrov and Jade stood in front of the table with their heads lowered and gaze glued to the marbled floor out of utter shame. The old man who had been speaking earlier was Delcrov's grandfather, who caught both of the youths in the storeroom all alone.

Silence hovered in the room acknowledging that someone was about to die that day. But no one had expected the outcome of a major misunderstanding to be that beautiful yet so severe. The thin white curtain flapped again and a long pause accompanied, the grandfather had been quietly sitting quietly on the wooden chair. The old man's stern gaze was consistently staring at Jade, the girl in her early twenties never imagined the upside down wave in her life. She had been working in the household since the girl was a child in her mother's arms.

Grandfather Lancaster sighed helplessly and lifted his tired eyes towards Jade, the girl had been clearly trembling due to fright and the possible worst consequences. Jade was well aware what her actual place was in the household, and despite all the privileges bestowed upon her after the deaths of her parents...she never forgot her actual place and worth in Lancaster household. Another tear crawled down on her cheek and fell on the floor silently, but only Jade hard the loud collision. Maybe it was her heart or perhaps her self- esteem, which got crushed that day.

'No, no. Please, young master tell grandpa it's all a misunderstanding.'

Jade pleaded in her heart under her trembling breath, she didn't want to be labelled as some gold digger maid servant who forgot her place. She clenched the hem of her dress tightly and continuously prayed for Delcrov to speak something in her favor. Meanwhile Delcrov, the grandson of grandpa Lancaster stood silent with his anxious silver eyes darted towards the floor.

Grandpa Lancaster was unable to decide anything which could save the reputation of his family and get Jade out of the spilled mess too. Whereas the guests outside the study room had been spreading the unexpected incident from one ear to another. The media representors filmed the news when the old Lancaster slapped his grandson, and took Jade to his study room to save her from all the indecent questions. The Lancaster family had been reigning the news headlines ever since Delcrov's father took over the business, now that Delcrov had tainted the reputation grandpa Lancaster had to fix the stuff.

'Why did I do that? Why did I go behind her upon seeing that creepy guest?'

Delcrov on the other hand had been trapped into the whirlpool of emotions and confusion. He saw one of the young guest chasing Jade while she served the cold drinks. Delcrov who was three years older to Jade by that time, felt himself drifted towards the sight of incident upon sneakily following that guest. He didn't want Jade to get hurt by anyone let alone ravished by a man, in the present moment he was unable to decide why he trailed behind that guest.

'It can't be just worry, why did I feel enraged upon thinking that guest might touch her.'

He again questioned to himself and upon realizing that it was not a mere reflexive and impulsive decision, he stood silent and didn't dare to deny anything or comment upon anything said by his grandpa.

"What do you have to say on the matter? Explain your actions and intentions, Delcrov."

Grandpa Lancaster interlaced his fingers and placed his elbows on the table, his raging voice demanded an explanation for his grandson's actions. When Delcrov reached the arcade, he saw the male guest pulling Jade inside the store room while covering her mouth. Jade casted a pleading look at him while she was being pulled in the dark room, Delcrov ran towards them to save the girl who had been his personal maid servant. His heart pounded against his chest upon realizing that he didn't simply cared for Jade, but the sudden outburst of the emotions within her was a trigger of his emotions.

'Please, master Delcrov...say something.'

Jade was still waiting for his reply which she expected to be in her favor, and to explain the things better. She lifted her head up and peeked at Delcrov, who had been standing by her side. Her anxious hazel orbs fell upon the handsome brunette man in front of her, Delcrov's hair were disheveled and due to the physical fight with that pervert male guest his collars were torn. She couldn't help but to suppress the mixed sensations which occupied her heart, she knew her place but something had been telling her to aid whatever Delcrov would say.

Her mind became clouded with just one thought which occurred due to his brash yet brave actions. While Delcrov was occupied with the constant confusion about his own emotions, Jade had been still waiting to hear something from him.

'Why did you save me, master?'

Jade had known from a few business gatherings that the very same male suitor had been interested in her ever since. She pretended not to hear or pay heed to the man's constant courting. Jade rejected that billionaire many times but she didn't expect him to pull her into the store room to do dirty deeds to her.

Delcrov finally lifted his head up and stared straight into his grandpa's eyes, a confident air surrounded his silhouette as Delcrov unsealed his lips to state his answer. Grandpa Lancaster didn't expect him 'not to deny' anything, however he was aware that his grandson was raised well and rightfully.

"No, grandpa. I have nothing to state. I will take full responsibility of my actions."

Jade covered her mouth in utter shock, she did not expect anything like that from him. The woman stared at Delcrov while shaking her head, she knew he was lying about being the culprit in the whole scenario.

'Why is he lying? Is he doing this to sav me?'

Jade shifted her gaze towards the old man whose imposing aura had been scaring both of them. She never imagined him to take such a bold step for her, Jade couldn't let Delcrov to take the unnecessary blame for something which he never did in the first place. Hence she took one step closer and wiped off her tears with the knuckles, she had to step up for him and for her own rights too.

"No, he is lying...it isn't the tru-"

The girl who had always been uneasy and shy around Delcrov whenever he called her to clean and arrange his room...finally got some courage out of nowhere and wanted to explain the already expected situation to the old man. Jade opened her mouth to speak something in Delcrov's defense, when the old man raised his hand to stop her.

"So, you are willing to take the responsibility of the mess?"

Grandpa Lancaster questioned him before announcing his decision, Delcrov nodded in agreement knowing what was about to happen next. Whereas Jade slumped on the floor on her knees as she covered her face and her muffled sobbing continued to mourn over the notorious reputation she would get from very next day.

"Good! It's settled then, I will make the arrangements."

Upon hearing those very words Delcrov experienced a racing heartbeat as he glanced at Jade, he felt sympathetic towards her but deep down there ha been some other emotion lingering which he was unable to understand. But one thing was certain that day, he felt satisfied from his decision. The very next day all the news platforms and media had been ringing with only one headline, which broke multiple hearts and dreams.....the grandson of Lancaster family got caught red handed while having an affair with his maid servant, and both are getting married in a week!
