Evelyn never imagined in this life she would marry such a powerful and arrogant man who's the opposite of the lover she's dreamed of. Yet, to live her life as someone else hurts her heart more than any dangerous mission she's gone through.

"Stop!" Evelyn screamed at the man running away from her towards oncoming traffic. The trucks beeping loudly, cars shifting lanes. Just when she was about to get close to him, a black vehicle rolled up, grabbing the man and disappearing into the horizon, leaving Evelyn breathless and shaking.

"God, dammit!" She cried, "If it wasn't for that jerk, I could have caught him by now!" Evelyn scoured into the crisp night air, hands running through her hair out of frustration.

Giving up and deciding it was no longer worth chasing a man down that was likely far gone, Evelyn decided to wave down a taxi. This failed mission was worth a glass of alcohol or two.

She'd finally clambered inside a taxi, her irritation getting the better of her. The driver rolled his eyes watching her throw a fit in the rearview mirror, "Where to ma'am?" He awaits her answer, she took a deep breath.

"Scarlett Bridge bar." She let out a soft sight, fixing her clothing lazily. She'd only now realised how tired she'd become. The driver simply nods, tapping a few letters into a GPS before departing.

The drive wasn't long, and Evelyn easily recalled all the familiar buildings and landmarks they'd passed as she fiddled with her disgruntled hair. She was happy she could finally catch her breath after such an exhausting chase.

Evelyn whips out her phone as she peers out the window, seeing Scarlett Bridge come into view, "How much?" She asks absent-mindedly, opening her Bluetooth pay.

"Fifteen." The driver grunts, pulling up to the bar before grabbing his handheld EFTPOS machine, holding it up to her albeit keeping his head forwards. A simple beep and tap indicated the successful payment; Evelyn gathered herself in an attempt to look somewhat decent before muttering a quick thanks and heaving herself out of the taxi.

Entering the recognizable bar and disregarding the security, she saunters her way towards the bench. Scarlett Bridge was a renowned pub; alluring to the famous and prestigious with its intricate wall of alcohol and illuminating chandelier. The chatter inside was hushed enough for the soothing jazz to seep through.

"A double shot of whiskey on ice, thanks." The bartender bobbed his head, flawlessly pouring the liquid into a glass. He watched the young woman before him swig the whiskey in one go almost instantly after he'd placed it down, "Another." Evelyn demand.

"Yes ma'am." How can a young woman like her handle such a drink? Astonishing.

It's been six months since the operation started, with little progress time flew by quicker than I anticipated. Evelyn thought. She hadn't planned on ending up at the Scarlett Bridge bar that evening but the stressful events brought her there. By her sixth drink, the bartender flashed her a smirk courtesy of her rosy cheeks. She shied away, beginning to feel accustomed to his flirtatious advances that would occur whenever she visited Scarlett Bridge.
