  Zoey's Pov:

"Mother! Mother, I'm back!" I called at the top of my voice as I entered into the house with the heavy carton of supplies.

I got to the dining and heaved a huge sigh of relief as I kept it down on the table.

  Gosh! This was damn heavy!!

"Zoey!" I heard mum call and turned to see her coming in from the kitchen.

  "You're back".

"Yeah - I've been calling you for ages now" I said, wiping off sweats from my face.

"Oh! So, how was it? Were you able to get the supplies?" She asked as she got to where I was and opened the carton.

"Yeah" I muttered and checked the time.

Oops! It was getting pretty late and Mandy might be here any moment from now.

"Uh...I'll just leave you to it, mum. I need to get ready now" I said and tried scurrying off.

"Zoey" she called back my attention and I turned to look at her.

"Are you still going for that party?" She asked, looking a bit worried.

"Of course, mum! Its Donna's birthday party. What's wrong?" I asked, confused and she sighed.

"You see, Zoey. I'm not just comfortable with this night party. I mean, I understand Zoey's a close friend, but...why must she hold a party in the night?"

"Because birthday parties are held at nights. Mum!" I laughed, but she didn't even crack.

  "Zoey" she called calmly.

"The truth is, I had a dream...a..a bad dream. And in that dream, you got pregnant. I really don't know what happened but, you were really pregnant. And that's the reason I'm scared about this so called party because you'll be staying out late and there'll be boys and..."

  "Mum!" I cut in, laughing.

"What on earth are you talking about? Its just a dream, okay? I'm not getting pregnant. I mean, I don't even have a boyfriend, not even a crush. So...relax. I'm not getting pregnant anytime soon" I said and laughed again because it sounded really funny.

"Well, you can laugh all you want. But let me warn you, Zoey. If you dare get pregnant at this tender age of 21, I'll personally kill you" she said sternly, making me think she was actually serious.

  Huh?

But then, she chuckled and ruffled my hair.

"Just be careful, okay? That's all I'm trying to say" she said and started bringing out things from the carton.

"Of course" I mumbled and hurried off to my room.

Okay; so, I'm Zoey Scott - nineteen years old and the only precious child of my mum. My dad. Us late actually. So, yeah. I'm all she's got.

I'm done with high school but unfortunately, I don't have enough cash to further my education. For now, mum and I are trying all we can to make it possible.

As I stood under the shower, I couldn't help but think about mum's words - the dream.

  At some point, I laughed.

How could she possibly say I got pregnant? I mean, that's far from possible. There's no way I'm getting pregnant. I'm still a virgin for God sake! I wonder why she's been thinking that much.

When I was done bathing, I returned to the room wore on my short red gown. Then, reached for my blue heels.

  Hmm

I went to the mirror to brush my hair and in the process, a knock came upon the door.

"Mum?" I called, still looking into the mirror.

"Don't tell me you're not done" I heard her tiny voice as she opened the door and came in.

  Mandy.

"Yeah - I'm done, okay?" I rolled my eyes as I packed my hair in a fine ponytail.

"Do you know what the time is, Zoey? You're so slow. I knew you were gonna be the reason I go late" she grumbled and I just chuckled.

Well, Mandy was a close friend from high school. I wouldn't really call her a best friend - I mean, I'm scared of the word "best".

So, I'll just call her a close friend.

I turned to look at her when I was done with my hair.

"Hmm. You're looking sweet" I complimented and she couldn't help but blush.

"Can we go now?" She tried to cover it up with an eye roll and I laughed.

"Of course" I replied and took my bag from the bed and we left the room afterwards - ready for the party.
