Jessica had been unconscious for two days and was now lying motionless in bed.

However, she muttered in a low voice, "Liam, you won't die a natural death. When I turn into a vengeful spirit, I won't spare you."

With that, tears trickled from the corner of her eyes.

Seeing this, Jonathan, holding a bowl, hastily placed it down and lovingly wiped away her tears.

"Jessica, why are you crying? Did you wake up?"

Jonathan shouted with joy several times, but the person on the bed remained motionless, her face pale and lifeless. His heart ached fiercely.

"Jessica, I know you're suffering, but not waking up will not solve anything. If you leave me like this, then I…"

He trailed off, choking on his sobs.

Jessica felt a dizzying throb in her head as if weighed down by a thousand pounds, and it was extremely uncomfortable.

But she distinctly heard Jonathan's voice, which left her very puzzled.

How did she hear her brother's voice?

Wasn't her brother dead for many years?

Oh, right! She's dead too.

Her brother must have come to take her.

"Jonathan…" Jessica tried her best to open her eyes, but when she finally saw Jonathan's face clearly, she was immediately baffled.

"How did Jonathan become young again?"

She remembered he was already in his 30s when he died, but now, he seems to be just in his early 20s!

"Jessica, you finally woke up," Jonathan said excitedly.

"Jonathan, you finally came to pick me up. You don't know, since you left, I really... missed you."

After saying that, Jessica abruptly rose and wrapped her arms around Jonathan's waist.

Once she reached the underworld, she wouldn't need to part from him.

However, the touch she felt unexpectedly made her stunned for a moment.

She could feel the warmth from his body...

What was happening?

She looked around in confusion, her face full of shock.

The walls of the room were covered with newspapers, and on the old table, several worn-out books and a small mirror sat.

This was not the underworld or Liam's house. It was her room before her marriage.

Why would she be here?

Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind.

Could it be... she reincarnated?

Jessica couldn't believe it. She lifted her hand and pinched her face hard.

Ouch! It hurts!

All of this was real; she wasn't dreaming. This was incredible; she had been reborn.

Reborn to the year when she was eighteen.

Jonathan was baffled by Jessica's words.

"Jessica, what are you talking about? I've always been by your side and never left," Jonathan touched Jessica's forehead as he spoke and sighed in relief, "Good thing you don't have a fever."

Otherwise, he would have thought that she was babbling nonsense because of a brain fever!

Jonathan's words of concern warmed Jessica's heart.

"Jonathan, it's so nice to have you!" Jessica stared at Jonathan and hugged him tightly again.

Jonathan smiled slightly, gently pushed her away, and said, "Since you are awake, hurry up and take your medicine."

Smelling the strong scent of the medicine, Jessica wrinkled her eyebrows.

"Do I have to drink it?" She was scared of the bitterness.

Jonathan shook his head, "You must. You have caught a cold, and this medicine is essential. Otherwise, it could lead to a chronic illness."

With no choice, Jessica took the bowl, pinched her nose, and drank the medicine.

True enough, the medicine was awfully bitter, but she felt sweetness in her heart because her brother cooked it for her.

Once the medicine was finished, Jonathan took the bowl and used his sleeve to wipe off the medicine residue on Jessica's mouth.

"Jessica, don't make irrational decisions again," Jonathan advised. "If you don't want to marry Liam, we can talk to our father when he returns from the field, and persuade him to change his mind and cancel this arranged marriage."

When their father was mentioned, a thread of sorrow floated in Jessica's heart.

Their father didn't treat them like his own children at all.

In her previous life, for a mere two hundred dollars dowry and to curry favor with Alice Payne, he even tied her up and carried her on an ox cart, and married her off to Liam.

Their father was also to blame for her brother's death.

At that time, Alice wanted to build a barn and pile up a courtyard wall, forcibly making her brother go to the mountains to mine rocks.

And thus, her brother died when a falling rock struck him.

If only their father had stood up against Alice back then, then her brother would not have died.
