It was a warm evening in the early summer. Birds chirping, cold breeze, and cloudy weather. The windows in the room were half-open which permits for the fresh air to permeate the interior place. She was living in a small apartment that is already enough for two-person. Although, she has a stable job and income as a teacher, living in a small apartment isn't a big deal to her at all.

Adephirra Alynski hasn't woken up yet even though the alarm clock has rung three times. She slept late last night, thinking about the frightful news she discovered yesterday morning that made her extremely terrified, lifeless-wanting tempted focus on her thoughts over her upcoming work. . .

What? There's-actually two lines on the pregnancy test! ''There's. . . No way it could be true,'' said Adephirra with her voice trembling, and fear was written all over her face. To some, those two lines could be the best news, and to others; those two lines could be the worst news.

To make sure she hasn't made a mistake, she tried to take the test three times and got the same result. She cried her eyes the whole night, thinking of the huge misstep she has ever made in her life.

This happened about a month ago. She was invited to meet with her friends at the restaurant for a celebration. Her best friend invited her and she didn't understand what's this thing they have to celebrate. ''Phi, Ynigo, and I are now dating. Today's our first day as a couple.'' Her best friend's confession made a huge blow to her early in the morning and it is when she was about to take a bite of her favorite beefsteak.

Huh? She became blank for a moment and words were choked up in her throat. Did she hear it correctly? Together? Who's together with who?

''. . . What?'' She has to ask again to make sure if what she heard just now is correct. ''Ynigo and I are dating. We decided to tell you the good news as soon as possible.'' Her best friend Nadia stated again that made her feel a needle pierced her heart in the blink of an eye. She lose her mood to eat and just stare at them blankly while Nadia was clinging to Ynigo's arm gaily. It seems like she wasn't lying. . .

She finds words hard to say and her heartbeat was increasing. ''. . . For real? I see. G-Good for you too. Congratulations. . .'' She verbalize stiffly and forced herself to smile. That hurts a lot, really. She gulps and eats a small amount of beef as her mind were occupied by thoughts.

Nadia, Ynigo, and her have been friends since high school. To be more exact, she and Ynigo have been friends since childhood, and Nadia just became their friends later on. They have been spending their time together until they're already adults.

But since the three of them has been friends for so long, it was difficult to remember who exactly became friends with who first. She thought that the three of them would remain friends forever. . . She didn't realize that Nadia was allowed to do something like that. . . She didn't expect they could be more than friends. Or is it because Nadia has more confidence than her?

Adephirra went numb and had a hard time thinking. Wanting to protect their perfect trio, she had kept her feelings for Ynigo hidden. If she had known she could, even just so; she wouldn't let the time she spent liking him go to waste. She would've at least told Ynigo how she felt. ''How nice.'' She mumbled to herself. Seeing the two of them together; those two who have no idea how she was feeling right now. She suddenly felt a little betrayed. She wanted to stop eating and run away. But she couldn't actually do that in front of them. . .

Recalling that incident, she keeps crying every night for almost a week. But Adephira did know that there wouldn't be a happy ending for her unrequited love. . . So she wasn't reckless enough to want to have a random one-night stand just because of that. If only Nadia wasn't bragging too much about how her relationship feels like with Ynigo! ''Hey, Phi!'' Her face turns red, and a satisfied look was drawn at Nadia's face. ''You won't believe this, but Ynigo's technique. . . Is pretty infallible!''

''Technique? What technique?'' Adephirra was so focused on writing her homework for her students and didn't get what Nadia was implying. They have been living in the same apartment since third-year college and always talk about secrets and everything.

''Hmm. . .'' Nadia releases a sweet moan while imagining the things first before telling Adephirra. She keeps giggling and it makes Adephirra avert her attention from the computer towards her. ''He is definitely a man. if I knew he was so fine, I had slept with him sooner. Ahh, really!'' she continuously tells all the illicit doings she did with Ynigo to Adephirra that made her face turns into a tomato. She keeps on rambling all words that aren't good for innocents and that it almost made Addie's nose bleed. ''Ynigo. . . Is so good that it made me want to do it with him every day.''

She covered her mouth with the back of her arms while listening to Nadia's stories. She looks back at her computer and hides her expression. ''You must have really a good time!'' She actually teared up! Listening to those, she don't understand what she was feeling right now. Did she teared up because it was about Ynigo, or is it because she has still no experience at all and she was about to turn thirty, four years later? ''Yeah, I'm telling you it was so d*mn good.''

How could Nadia actually say those things without getting embarrassed? Well, base on her character, she was pretty pervy inside. Nadia chortled in the back as she kept teasing Adephirra when will she be able to experience something like that? Since Adephirra, who dreams of being the perfect teacher ethically and educationally; she made sure to stay a virgin until she finds the right man. ''I wonder if there's a nice guy out there waiting to make my Phi an honest woman.''

Adephira tears up again, thinking of Nadia's word. So shameless. She doesn't even realize how much her words are hurting her. . . Is it that bad to desire to be pure until she gets married? But, she's already used to Nadia's sharp tongue. And as a matter of fact, Nadia was the greatest friend she has ever met.

When it was already late, and Nadia has already fallen asleep, her words remain on Adephirra's mind. So what's with that technique huh? Was it really that good? It was just good for them. While she was tantalized by the thought, she recalled something that one of her fellow teachers just mentioned. She opened the back cover of her book and found a card. That was the business card Kaycee Iorca gave her last week. . . This is a Whiskey River five-star bar. ''If you feel like having fun, then I'll get you a membership!'' said Kaycee who is a lifesaver for Adephira right now.

She clenched the card in her hand gently and left a smirk. ''Yeah. Who says I can't experience something like that? I will now!'' Perhaps in this way, she can completely move on and forget her feelings towards her childhood friend! She's going out tonight and gonna have fun! She had made her decision. She will be going to end-the virginity she had guarded for twenty-six years!

Her eyes were glued on the three pregnancy tests on her table with two lines on it, as she felt her soul was going to fly away somewhere. Who is it. . . Who was the father of the child? It has happened a month ago and she can't clearly remember the face of that man. Dark eye bags were hanging under her eye and it seems like her mind was out of the planet earth. Bang! The sound of the door slammed open echoed on the room that made Adephira back in reality. ''What the h*ck, can't you knock?'' She roared, helplessly.

''What's with you? When did I ever knock? Plus, what are you doing Phi?''

''I-I. . .'' How come Nadia was back? She instantly hide the pregnancy test in her arm before Nadia could discover them. She was covered in her sweat; feeling anxious. She can't know, she can't know! ''What are you doing?'' Nadia asked once again, finding that Adephirra is acting strange today. She has just gone back from being away for three days, because of some family matter. She left Adephirra just for a while and now she has fully become a panda? ''Huh? Uh. . . Nothing. I'm exercising actually! I need to build stamina for my students, you know? A strong teacher is a good model for her students.''

She started doing a weird exercise and her heart still beats rapidly. If Nadia found out about it, she will surely be extremely surprised. It was her first time and she got pregnant first than Nadia who had experienced it a lot already? ''Yeah? Alright. Well then, keep at it. . .'' Nadia said that made Adephirra feel a little relieved.

However, before she could make another move, Nadia appeared at the back and exclaimed with her voice bringing a horrifying tone. ''Yeah, huh? Is that what you thought I'd say? You're obviously being suspicious!''

''Ahh!'' Due to the fact that she was frightened by Nadia's voice, she screamed freakily. Making her find out the truth about her stupid mistake is simply laughable. ''Phi, tell me what's wrong-'' When she look down and see a piece of a pregnancy test with two lines on the table, she lost her words and her eyes widened. ''Nadia, you scared me to death!''

While she was busy worrying about her heart, Nadia already took the pregnancy test and glare at it with intimidating eyes. Seeing it was already in her hand, Adephirra's heart almost drop out of her knee. ''I-I. . . That's. . .'' How will she explain it?

''Phi, what on earth is the meaning of this? Did you have a lover hidden away? I'm very disappointed you didn't tell me.''

''N-No, it's not that! You misunderstand, it's-you see. . .'' She was panicking and in just a blink of an eye, the atmosphere become serious and Nadia was silent for a moment, as her eyes were torn on the pregnancy test. ''So, who's the father? Is he a good man?'' She asked in a monotone voice.

Because of the long silence, Nadia spares a glance at her. ''I. . . Don't know.'' Adephira responds as her eyes was on the floor. She feels so d*mn ashamed of herself! Just because of that curiousness, her chastity was ruined, and overall, her child will become fatherless. . . How pitiable!

Seeing Nadia's expression right now scared her the most. It's because of her anyway. . . If she didn't brag about how it feels like to do it with a man, her curiousness wouldn't be awakened. . .

Nadia kept in interrogating Adephirra and found out that it happened during the time she told her about her first s*x experience with Ynigo. She didn't actually expect that her purest best friend in the world has gone insane and did a one-night stand randomly during the night she broke out a piece of joke.

She must at least have been careful that night and prepared everything. . . But she was so eager to experience it and forget to bring contraceptives, and just let her desire roam around and now she was the one who will be suffering from her mistake. Pathetic. . .

Time passes by quickly and it is already afternoon. They went to the prestigious clinic in the City for a check-up since it was also the nearest clinic in their area. She also heard that the owner of the clinic was a rich young man who already managed a huge company at an early age. However, that man's identity become mysterious, and he was always out of the country. It would be Adephirra's first time entering the clinic ''Is this the clinic?''

Nadia looked up and saw the woman in front of her who wore a fashionable type of clothing and her eyes were covered with huge sunglasses, while she sat on the opposite chair of hers, with an annoyed expression. What's with that look? Disguising as a celebrity?
