Screams, why can I hear screams? I frantically sat up, looking around the room. Nothing. I rubbed my eyes, trying to wake myself up. After another glance around I slowly climbed out of bed, walking towards my closed door. Closed? I never have my door closed at night, but tonight it was. I gently turned the handle, trying to make no noise. The door wasn't so forgiving, it creaked with every little movement. Then, the screaming stopped, leaving behind muffled whimpers. What was going on? Do I dare leave my room?
Well that was how it all began, the beginning of the end. What I faced leaving my room was staggering, something straight out of a horror film. Blood was strewn across the walls, the ceiling. Just everything. I dared follow the trail, as much as I didn't want to, I NEED to know what has happened. I begin walking down the hall, with two steps my socks were soaked with blood. I don't know what kept me walking, every instinct was telling me to run. To hide. But something didn't listen, I kept walking to the end of the hall. That's when I found... The first body.
My little sister Yugi, it looked like a wild animal had torn her to pieces. My breath caught and my lungs went tight. I knelt down beside her, there was no way she could still be alive. I ran my fingers over her pale cheek, which was rapidly loosing its warmth. I felt tears build up in my eyes, as I clenched them shut the tears streamed down my cheeks. Despite the great loss I felt right now, I still couldn't freak out. I stood back up, my bare knees now painted red. I continued on into the lounge, more bodies much the same as Yugi. Torn apart, blood all around them instead of in their bodies like it should be.
One by one my eyes barely managed to make out who they were. My mum, my dad. Both piled beside each other, it looked like they were trying to protect someone. A step closer confirmed that, my younger brother Jake, no better off than anyone else. I heard the whimpering again, quickly I made my way towards the noise. I slid across the ground on the blood, almost falling over. When I found them I dropped to my knees, the glass on the ground bit into my skin. "Sasha." I let out a small cry. The last one left alive other than me... My older sister. She looked just as bad as everyone else, it's a miracle she is still holding on.
"What happened?" Tears filled my eyes once more, I know she is slipping away. "It was a..." Her words were cut off by the blood filling her mouth. I helped her sit up, causing her to cry out in pain. My heart dropped. How could this be happening to us. She went to speak again then her eyes filled with fear. "What? What is it?" I frantically asked. Then it happened. I seen her life fade away out of her eyes, I heard her last struggling breath. She was gone. I had lost everyone.
