Devin's POV:

"Is everything ready for tonight, the flowers, tables, food, drinks, and oh yes the song. I gave you her favorite tracks that should be played, right?" I asked, feeling really nervous right now, this is the first time I'm doing this.

"Yes sir, I got her favorite song to be played once she enters the hotel's garden. Also there will be showers of flowers and...." James was cut off, in his speech, as we walked into my private elevator and James tapped the top floor to my office, ya I have my tastes and he is actually the only one I let into my elevator, cause he us actually my PA aka personal assistant.

"I hope it's her favorite flower?" I asked fidgeting, this has never happened to me, not even during my business deals, when I'm all fired up, but now I'm freaking nervous, like a high-school boy about to ask his crush on a date to the schools annual dance.

"Yes sir, I got her favorite white rose, to be showered on her, to be decorated in the hall, and also on the tables, least I forget, I got them to put white lilies in the fountain." James said looking into his pad, while giving me the details.

"Okay, have you gone to the hotel to check on how everything is going, if everything is in place. I don't want any mistake."

"No sir, but the decorating company sends me pictures every one minute, as I ordered them to, and I'll be going there once I'm through setting up your meeting details to Daphne." James says still looking into his pad.

"Okay do the fast and don't let anything go wrong, or else...." I say as the elevator opens showing my well furnished hallway, and we start to walk towards my office.

"Don't worry sir everything will go well, and sir may I ask? What time will Miss Lucknow be coming in, so I could time them."

"Don't worry I will alert you when she is to come in, so just focus on the décor. And once again no mistakes." I say as I dismiss the topic, and he goes into his office to prepare for tonight.

"Good morning, sir. Before I forget sir, Mr Danny's secretary called to say that they are going to finalize the deal with us, and they will be sending two representatives tomorrow and Tony company's called to say that they will be coming into the country by Saturday, so we can finalize the hotel deals." Daphne my secretary said as I stepped out of the elevator following me to my office, it's actually her morning routine, just to enlighten me on any new information's.

"Okay, Daphne. I hope you aren't forgetting anything." I ask, as I held the knob to my office door, turning open.

"Oh yes sir, sorry, I forgot to tell you that you have a surprise guest." She quickly chips in.

"What, a surprise guest? I thought I told you not to let anyone into my office without my authorization, so what the hell is this, it seems your job is becoming rather too heavy and you want to relieve yourself, well don't worry I'll help you." I say really pissed now, she has just unknowingly ruined my morning, this is what you get for having Daphne as your secretary.

"No sir it's not that, you do know her well, she always comes here with you and you say 'never to leave her waiting and when ever she comes let her into office', that is why I actually let her in, and sir, she has been here for over thirty minutes. Sir please forgive me this once, if she wasn't close to you I wouldn't have let....." I cut her off on her speech cause I must say right now she was just ranting.

"Now tell me who is the woman in my office."

"Sir, she says it is a surprise, and that if I tell you who it is it will ruin everything."

"Fine, you can go back to your office."

"Yes sir."

Who is this lady she was talking about, I ask myself as I turn the knob open, to reveal nobody, just my seat turned towards the window, I walked up to the chair and turned it around to reveal, nobody.

"Where is the person she says is in my office? Cause I can say my eyesight is damn good and I can't see anyone, what a waste." I say as I wanted to position myself to seat.

"Was it really a waste?" A voice asked as it laced it's hands round my waist

That voice I can recognise that voice even in the pits of hell. Could she really be here? I as myself as I turned around in her arms, and lo and behold, it was her, my childhood friend and love.

"Wait, I thought you said you will be coming in by tonight?" I say as I cup her small face in my big hands, with a large smile on my face.

"If I had it wouldn't have been a surprise, so I kinda said a little lie, I just wanted to give you a surprise. That's why I even, hid behind the door and I must say it was worth it." She says as she removed my hands from her face and places it on her waist, and putting her arms round my neck, and planting a small peck on my lips. Ya, she has always been a shy one, and a great book worm.

"So how was your shoot, hope it went well. Oh! Did they sign the contract with your company?" I asked as I sat on my chair and placing her on my laps, then turned to chair to face the window, showing the beautiful city of New York.

"Yes they did, although they didn't choose for the main shoot, just the side shoot, they actually chose someone else for the cover. If they had chosen me, I wouldn't have been able to come until say six months time. Cause they will take us for shoots in different places, states, and also we will do some runway training, but they didn't choose me." She said as she made herself comfortable on my body, placing her head on my chest.

"Why I thought you said you were promised the part?" I asked really confused, cause when we spoke one month earlier she had said that she would get the part due to the influence of her manager.

"I know I said that, but one of the girl's manager is the head's cousin, so i guess that's why they gave her the part." She said very sad, I was sad also but deep down, I was sooo happy she wasn't chosen which means she would have to stay with me, and all I planned for the both of us tonight won't go to waste.

"Hey I forgot to tell you, I have planned a special return dinner for you and I."

"What? A dinner for two, when did you plan all this, Oh I'm so happy, where is the dinner taking place, when did you plan it all and why didn't you tell me about it. Now I have to go look for what I would wear." She said as she stood from my lap grabbing her purse, and heading straight for the door.

"Wait." I say holding her in place.

"You don't have to worry 'bout what to wear, I have done that, and 'bout the location, you don't also have to worry 'bout that. 'Cause James will be coming to pick you up and bring you straight to me."

"Okay, but I still have to go get ready, oh what time is the dinner and what time is James arriving."

"James will be arriving at your apartment by 7:30 PM."

"Okay."

"And Adrienne, you must look your best, okay?" I say and she leaves, leaving me in a very happy state.
