"WHAT the fuck ?! Are you serious about this?" she exclaimed as her eyes remained on the contract she had read.
"Yeah." he shortly responsed, then poured the remaining wine into his glass.
At that moment she could not read what was running through the young man's mind. All she knew was that she was hurt by what he was doing now.
Caden was his bestfriend ever since they were a child. Until they grew up, he was her partner in everything so it was a big deal for her to see his friend suffering. She is also sympathetic to his situation. Who would not be if you discovered that the woman you love is your blood relative?
Not just by blood, but your sister.
By just thinking that she will be put in such a situation she felt like as if her brain will explode.
"Until when?" the latter frowned as if he could not figure out what she meant.
"I mean, how long are we going to make this play-pretend?" even she was against to the young man's decision because his girlfriend was also her friend. And by the time she find out that she was allegedly 'pretending' to be Caden's new girl, she would be mad as hell and probably she would hate her. She does not want that to happen, but if it is the only way to mend her bestfriend's heart, then she will take the risk.
"Until she forgets how she feels for me. Until she hates me. That's the only way I can think of so that she will not lose everything." he's aura remained cold which gradually becoming normal to her.
Ever since his father met him, this has been the way he treats everyone.
"Is there really no other way?" she asked hopefully.
She let out a heavy sigh as a sign of forfeiting. She immediately took the pen and signed the contract.
"It's done." she said then laid the paper on the young man's table.
"Okay, good. Now, repeat after me."
She raised an eyebrow and then looked at him with amusement.
"What?"
"I said repeat after me." she sighed then nodded.
"Fine! You didn't say right away that you still have an oath taking ceremony."
"Tss. Shut up and raise your right hand." he commanded and so she did.
"I, state your name"
"I, Sassy Montalban"
"Do solemnly swear and pledge,"
"Do solemnly swear and pledge,"
"To faithfully execute my duties as, state your role,"
"To faithfully execute my duties as his err-- side chick,"
"To the best of my ability and knowledge."
"To the best of my ability and knowledge."
"I will also promise that I won't tell this contract to anyone or else our friendship will be over." she was stunned by what he had said.
"What the hell, Cad--"
"The oath is not yet done. Don't interrupt, Sassy. Go and repeat what I've said," she almost stumbled in annoyance because of the re-enforcement of his bossyness.
"I will also promise that I won't tell this contract to anyone or else our friendship will be over. "
After that he left without saying anything.
My god, that man was really rude. She could not fully imagine that sh3 had endured this man's habit for how many years.
What now?
She ends up being his side chick.
What will be the next chapter of her life now that she entered in a complex situation? She never imagined that this was how she would end up staying next to him
She groaned out of annoyance.
"Yeah. Maybe I'm really destined to be his side chick. Fucking destiny!"
