Its a Monday morning, as usual I have to wake up early to prepare breakfast for my husband, iron his clothes and also prepare myself for work.

I get out of bed, then head to the bathroom where I take a bath.. I wrap a towel around my body and go back to our room.

Me: babe [ I shake him lightly] babe wake up [he groans before opening one eye, ]

Him: but it's still early my love [ he says as he tries to pull me back to bed]

Me: no it's not that early, and besides I still have to Make amagwinya.

Him: you know I still don't understand why you have to sell those things, it's not like I can't take care of you.

Me: it's not about you taking care of me, it's about me being independent [ I dropped my towel and started lotioning my body... Every morning we fight about this, he doesn't want me to sell Amagwinya at the school gate]

Him: that's not independence, you down grading yourself.

Me: I won't stay at home no matter what you say.

Him: mxm [ he clicked his tongue and went to the bathroom]

I'm now used to his behavior so it doesn't scare me.. Anyways I made his breakfast and lunch box then made Amagwinya, I put them in a bucket and sliced a polony, I also put it in a container.. I then loaded my things in a wheelbarrow, my husband came down as I was still busy.. He gave me one look then shook his head before he sat down and started eating.

I'm sure you guys are wondering why I'm selling fat cakes at the school gate as if I'm poor.. Well after passing my matric I couldn't study further simply because my mom took the money my father left for me and ate it with her friends.. She used to buy the entire alcohol in a tarven and drink with her friends saying she's mourning my dad.. I mean who the hell does that?

Well I tried applying for financial Aid but I never succeeded so I had to stay at home. I started this selling business before I even got married, I used the money I made to buy toiletries.

When I got married two years ago, my husband tried stopping me but I stood my ground.. I wasn't gonna be a house wife, the lasting I wanted was to depend on a man. I know I might be earning peanuts but at least it's something.

After eating my husband stands up with his lunch box and laptop bag ready to leave. I fix his tie and wipe his lips, he looks down on me and smiles.

Him: what would I be without you? [ I can't help but smile back] I love you

Me: I love you too [ he leans in and give me a kiss that leaves me begging for more ]

Him: bye love, have a productive day

Me: bye [ he walks out leaving me all smiles, who would have thought that I'll fall for my husband so quickly... I thought this marriage will be the end of me but it turned out pretty good]

Oh let me formally introduce myself, I'm Noxolo Booi. I'm 25 years of age and married to a handsome, yet most loving man on earth Sonwabiso Collins. Our marriage was arranged but we fell in love the minute we laid eyes at each other.

Well this is a my story.. As they say " the ones you love are the one that hurts you the most "

Walk with me and see how cruel can the world be.
