"Dear little sister, Kerry is with me. We're at Diamond Resort, Room 6009. Feel free to visit us!"

Lydia Hughes stared at the text message she had just received from her half-sister, Ellie Hughes. Lydia felt as though a sharp knife had pierced her heart, hurting her with every breath she took.

At the end of the message, there was a photo attached. Lydia's boyfriend, Kerry Holmes, and Ellie were tightly embracing each other.

"How could the man who claimed he would take good care of me for the rest of my life have an affair with my sister?" Lydia wondered.

She wanted to ask Kerry why he would do this to her despite her unconditional love for him.

The hotel room door was not locked. As soon as Lydia entered the room, she received another message. "Dear little sister, I've found a man for you. I hope you like him."

Before Lydia could figure out what Ellie meant, a man who was as aggressive as a wolf suddenly pressed her against the door.

The man was not Kerry.

A thick sense of danger enveloped Lydia as the man entrapped her, leaving her no chance to escape.

Lydia realised she had fallen into Ellie's trap and was certain that Ellie was the one who had hired this man.

She fished out her wallet while trembling. "Let go of me. I'll pay you! I'll give you all the money I have!"

The man didn't seem to have heard Lydia's voice as he desperately entrapped her.

In the end, Lydia could not escape...

Tears kept streaming down from the corners of her eyes...

After the man finally released her, she lay on the bed like a lifeless heap of mud. She didn't even have the energy to speak.

The man got off the bed and put on the blazer from the floor. His movements exuded a superior elegance and restrained coldness as if the ferocious beast from moments ago was not him.

The man felt both gratitude and guilt towards Lydia. He wanted to switch on the bedside lamp and see the woman who had saved him, but as soon as he reached his hand out, urgent footsteps and commanding voices sounded outside the door.

"We must find him tonight."

"He was drugged, so he can't go that far."

As the man frowned, a chilling sense of ruthlessness surged within his gaze. Knowing the people who plotted against him had caught up with him, he swiftly placed the ring from his thumb onto Lydia's finger. Then, he dashed towards the balcony and leapt through the window, displaying cheetah-like agility in one seamless motion.

Lydia lay stiffly on the bed, resembling a soulless doll.

At this moment, her phone suddenly rang. It was a call from Kerry.

She answered the call.

"Lydia, let's break up," Kerry said steely.

"What? Why?" Lydia, who had just sobered up, still felt a bit dizzy and hadn't fully grasped the situation yet.

"Look at those pictures."

Lydia glanced at the pictures Kerry had sent. In those images, she was seen at the hotel room entrance late at night, embracing a tall and muscular man. She seemed lifeless in his arms. The photos were blurry, showing Lydia's face but not revealing the man's features as he passionately kissed her.

"That was the man who raped me last night!" Lydia thought while she felt a mix of fury, injustice, and resentment.

"Ellie was the one who asked me to go to that hotel last night! I didn't do anything wrong! The one at fault is you! You and Ellie must have had a secret affair long ago, haven't you? You two adulterous scoundrels!"

After saying that, Lydia sent Kerry screenshots of the photos and messages Ellie had sent her last night. She wanted to hear Kerry's explanation. However, there was no response from the other end of the phone.

"Darling, who are you calling? Come and join me in bed." A pretentious female voice came through the phone. Upon hearing Ellie's voice, Lydia suddenly felt revolted. Her beloved boyfriend and half-sister disgusted her.

"Is Ellie in the hotel room with you? Kerry, do you have anything else to explain?" Lydia sneered.

"I have nothing to explain. Let's break up. I don't love you." Kerry's cold voice revealed his lack of guilt, causing Lydia to chuckle.

"No! Mr. Holmes, I should be the one dumping you. You may not know how handsome and strong my lover is. Last night was so intense that I was on cloud nine. Compared to him, you are like an inexperienced virgin who doesn't even know how to kiss! Let's break up. I've been sick of you, and I have been cheating on you for a long time!"

After that, Lydia promptly snapped a photo of the kiss mark on her neck while making a V sign with her fingers. Then, she sent it to Kerry.

Finally, Kerry's icy demeanour began to waver. His expression grew even more unpleasant as if he had just eaten faeces.

"Lydia... You..."

Without waiting for Kerry to finish speaking, Lydia suppressed the bitterness in her heart and smiled even brighter. "Kerry, I've dumped you. I hope you won't bother me again in the future!"

After saying that, Lydia ended the call. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she fought hard to hold them back.

Suddenly, she felt immense gratitude towards the man from last night. Because of him, she was able to preserve a shred of dignity during her confrontation with Kerry.

Lydia suddenly noticed the metallic ring on her hand, which was causing her discomfort.

She felt a mixture of pity and absurdity in her situation. She couldn't believe the man would give her a token of affection after fulfilling his assignment.

She didn't want to keep the ring as a reminder of the dreadful night, so she casually tossed it aside.

Lydia refrained from showering to preserve the evidence on her body. She reported the incident to the police, enduring physical discomfort during examinations and interrogation. After leaving the police station, she took a deep breath and lit a cigarette. Since the incident had occurred and her relationship had ended, her main concern now would be her future plans.

Lydia called Aunt Martha and said, "Aunt Martha, I've decided to accept the deal you mentioned. I will get married!"

She sold herself for a million dollars.
