My name is zoe Johnson I have secured a permanent job position in southfield lawfirm

It's a big private lawfirm that offers a good pay and the best part is that I also get good allowance. This is good news and it calls for a celebration so on my way home I call my best friends coz my girls have to know about this .

A group call is what will work so I added cece and veev this girls are girls are part of me , we have been friends for almost 15 years . Cece Morris became my friend since the first day when I joined highschool I met her at the school canteen and she had a broken arm she was one of the rude kids but weirdly we clicked and we became friends at first we weren't best friends but just friends and in time we became best friends .

As for Vivian Lede we became best friends during the first year of highschool she was straight up crazy and she had the kind of vibes that would cheer you up even on your worst days . The first time I liked her and wanted to be her friend is when she won a bet by drinking 3 litres of water continuously without vomiting.

I followed her for almost half a day secretly to see if she'd vomit but she never did we started hanging out in school and also outside school and before we knew it we were already two peas in a pod. We would constantly get in trouble together and we got used to being known for our notorious behaviour.

Viv : sup bitch what you upto I hope you have a really good reason as to why you are face timing us in the middle of the day.

Me: ok ok ok so today I got a permanent employment at southfield lawfirm and guess who has a six figure salary plus allowances uh-huh

I said this while screaming and before I knew it we were all screaming they were happy for me and that made me feel happier.

Viv: so guess who's paying for drinks tonight..?

Cece : were we meeting tonight?

Cece asked in a puzzled face I sometime i thought that she was literally incapable of reading in between the lines

Viv: I think that was self explanatory cece we going out to celebrate zoes break and she's paying for the drinks .

Personally I don't see how that was self explanatory how was I supposed to know I was paying for the drinks I know I got employed but I haven't received my salary yet and this idiots are supposed to be buy my congratulatory drinks.

Vivian laughs a bit then hangs up

Cece : see you tonight babe

And she also hung's up before returning my phone in my bag it rings again thinking its veev I pick the call and I start talking

Me: hey dam dam do you want me to buy you today's dress to

Mum : no I don't. When are you coming home to visit us you crazy girl?

Jeez its my mum I quickly check my screen and see that its my mum calling

Me: hey mummy I'm sorry I didn't know it was you how are you and dad doing?

Mum: we are fine but we are really worried about you. Is the city life treating you well my child ?

Me : yes mummy I'm doing quite ok , I was

Supposed to call you today and share my good news with you. I just got permanently employed mama

I said while I was screaming I I had my mum laughing on the other side and before she could talk to me I heard her telling people on her background that her daughter was permanently employed and the were all celebrating with her .

Mum : I'm happy for you my child , you work hard and achieve your goals and if you ever need us you can always come back home to us . You know we love you regardless of where you are in life baby .

Me : thank you mummy . I will work hard and make you proud mummy

Mum: ok baby . Take care of your self and remember to eat healthy ok .

Me : ok mummy , take care to.

My mum hung up and I returned the phone in my bag. It felt so nice being happy and finally seeing that all my hard work was paying off I walked home and I took a two hour sleep before I woke up . I woke up at around 6pm and went straight the kitchen where I fried two eggs and prepared a cup of strong

coffee i sat at my kitchen counter while eating and drinking my coffee as I scrolled my phone looking at reels in insta for about an hour my face was glued to my phone and just as I was about to get up I received a call it was from veev .

Veev: hey bitch what time are we meeting tonight

Me: how about 9.30pm

Veev: cool I'll tell cece.

She hung up and I went straight to the bathroom after I took a long warm bath and I even shave all my pubes . Was planning on putting on a short slutty dress tonight and I ha to be hairless for me to pull that off.

After leaving the shower I took my phone and played my playlist on my mini speaker as I chose my entire outfit. After choosing my outfit I skillfully did my makeup since we were going to a new trending club I couldn't risk putting soft makeup so I went all in .

I wore a blonde wig my hair was black and I was going for a whole new look . I wanted us to get posted on the clubs insta page and I also didn't want to be fully recognised if that happened well because such publicity wasn't going to be good for my career. I wore my dress and ontop I wore a black leather jacket .

The dress was a bare on both upper sides but it had two circular materials suspended by very thin strings they were supposed to cover my nipples and they did . So while I was still finishing preparing myself I called my uber so that it would be here by the time I was really leaving . I got a call from my driver telling me that he was already down stairs and that's when I went down .

Since I was on the 4th floor I took the elevator because I wasn't going down using the stairs coz I was wearing high heels but just as Mrs Peters entered the lift I wished that I had taken the stairs . Mrs Peters was my neighbour and it was really obvious she didn't like me .

She didn't like the idea that I was single and living in the same apartments as people who had a families . And the fact that I was also a smoker made her hate me even more . She didn't think it was a good image that the whole neighbour hood always saw people partying and drinking at my place but I really didn't care I had also payed the same lease as every other family there and I had as much rights as all of them to do whatever I wanted with my place

"Good evening miss Johnson " she said while she scanned me from head to toe I guess she already knew where I was going.

I answered as I looked at her with a sarcastic smile and after that we were quiet for the next few seconds in the elevator. The elevator dinged and the doors open and I was out before the door was completely open. I entered my uber and I sat silently at the back while listening to the radio as the driver drove me to club IBIZA it was already 10pm by the time I arrived at the club and my girls were already inside.

I texted Vivian and had her help me pass through the bouncers since the club had a long queue and I couldn't get in until if I didn't have connections from inside the club. So I finally got in and I took off my leather jacket and sat ot our corner booth though the club was new it had a lot of people and the dj was playing sick jams . Just as I was beginning to think about what to order I saw a cute waiter approaching me

" what will you drinking today " he asked with a wide smile on his face

" I have no idea what would you recommend " I asked while shouting due to the loud music ."I recommend a strong drink it looks like you girls are in a party mood today. "

I quickly nodded in agreement and he walked away towards the counters direction . I saw cece stepping in to the dance floor and I couldn't help but laugh because I could swear that she was the worst dancer I've ever met in person .

Veev leaned towards me and asked me how I felt about finding a job and I was so happy that it was more than obvious . Before I could even explain how I felt she had to burst my happy bubble by telling me that my happy days will be over before I realised it . Working at a low firm wasn't an easy job as I had to start learning new terms involving law and also I had to familiarise myself with alot of matters concerning law .

Anyway I was ready for all that because my salary was enough motivation the waiter brought me my cocktail I took a sip of the drink and it was sweet before he left I ordered another one coz this was going down my throat in a flash it was cold and refreshing I loved it before I knew it I was down to three cocktails .

Cece came back to the table and told us that she had met a handsome new catch and she was planning on riding the wave till the end we were left on the table with veev and we decided to dance a little but I felt dizzy and I was struggling to stand straight because that's what you feel after drinking 3 different cocktails and a couple of shots.

I decided to go outside and smoke a little I went out through the clubs back door since the front was swamped with alot of people I had just stepped out of the door when I had someone crying it sounded like a man . Curiosity got the better part of me and I started walking towards the dark corner of the building.

I was walking slowly to avoid tripping as I also couldn't stand straight. As I got nearer I could hear the crying voice was not one but two or maybe 3 people I wasn't sure and I couldn't see it very well

" we are sorry boss we have families , this will not repeat itself sorry sir "

and that's when I stopped and took off my heels and before I could take another step I heard a deep and loud voice shouting

" shut up "

and other crying voices were still crying asking for forgiveness.

Slowly I tiptoed to the corner where I could look and peek clearly but I couldn't see clearly and I wasn't thinking straight because normally I would have run back to the club and I would have called the police but alcohol stired my curiosity. I peeked alittle and before I could understand the situation I witnessed two guys were shot simultaneously on the head and there was blood flowing and splashing behind the bodies, just then one had both ears chopped and was told that was a warning.

I was shocked to see all that I couldn't figure if it was all a dream or I was just imagining my own thing I thought my heart was racing I could feel it beating all the way out .

For a moment I felt asif I was watching a thriller and my whole body was numb .I was still trying to collect myself when my lighter fell and it made a sound . And I saw all those murderers looking at my direction and I knew I had to run at that moment immediately I started running towards the club.
