Haya's pov
I hope I never get tired of staring at the sky, when I tilted my head upwards I could clearly see millions of bright stars dotted on the black canvas of night, the sky sprinkled with stars.
I gazed up at the sky and studied the silver glow of moon but the look that the moon gave me didn't cause the storm to go inside of me. Instead all my memories started playing back in my head and that's when my tears made its way down my cheeks. I closed my eyes and started recalling the past.
The eerie darkness of that night would never escape my memory. On that day my mom and I was on the way back home.
"Mom why do you need to go to get my dress late at this hour of the night."
"Haya I want everything to be prepared as early as possible because there is only two weeks more my baby girl." my mom replied looking so happy.
I kept quiet and was only concentrating on the road.
"OH MY GOD HAYA" my mom screamed making me to press the brake, I looked at my mom terrified.
"What mom" I replied bewildered.
"Ummnothing it's just your blushing." My mom told teasing me.
Really was I blushing.
"Mom I.she didn't let me finish my sentence.
"I know Haya how would girls feel before their marriage, even I had past your age Haya, I know that you're nervous."
I rolled my eyes and glared at her.
"Mom it's no time for joke, it's already late and dad called for the umpteenth
time." I literally yelled at her.
"I know my baby girl, you know dad was so excited the day you announced you want to get married to Akmal." She said beaming with happiness.
This time I blushed harder. "Thanks mom."
"You thanked me the umpteenth time Haya. More than you I am so happy that you chose Akmal as your life partner, dad and I know that you would always make the right decision in your life. Advance wishes for a happy marriage life sweetheart. "
"Thank you mbefore I could finish my sentence a loud bang was heard and before I knew what happened I lost control of the steering wheel and at the same time another car hit on the passenger front wheel, I didn't understand what was happening and everything started to get blurred. In my blurry vision I searched for my mom.
"Mom, mom" I whispered
"Haya" her voice was low and blood trickled down her face." I love you my baby girl." before I could reply darkness began to surround me and I fell into unconsciousness.
That day was the worst day where my life turned upside down. Tears trickled down and I didn't dare to wipe it.
"Why me" for the last five years I only asked the same question gazing at the sky.
"Haya, didn't you have your dinner yet." My older brother Ayaan came into view. I quickly wiped my tears and looked into his way masking up with a smile.
"No, I don't feel hungry." I replied back.
"We're you crying Haya." My brother questioned me. I quickly looked away not able to look into his eyes.
"I miss mom bro, I... I." I wasn't able to reply and started crying.
"I know Haya, it's almost five years that incident happened, stop doing this to yourself." Ayaan muttered more to himself.
There was an eerie silence in the atmosphere both gazing at the sky.
"Haya" I hummed in response. "Mom used to tell me, when our loved one dies, they live on forever with us, in your memories, in your thoughts, in your future and most importantly in your heart. So mom didn't leave us Haya, she always stays with us over here." He told pointing towards my heart.
I smiled in response and stared at the sky.
"Days will pass and turn into year's mom but we will always remember those beautiful memories of you until the end, we love you mom." I spoke gazing at the sky.
My brother kissed my forehead and smiled, I smiled back. "Shall we have dinner, now I feel hungry." I said pouting.
My brother smiled widely and nodded." shall I get the food here." "Fine but make it fast." I spoke pointing my index finger.
In response he arched his eyebrow and smacked my hand away walking outside.
"No matter how much he tries to enlighten my mood, I know it was my fault, only my fault."
