Kim Stephens ran her hand through her hair for the umpteenth time that morning as she stood in front of the massive building. Her nerves were cracking even though she’d planned severally for the moment. She smoothed her plain black pencil skirt for the non-existent crease and tucked in her white shirt into the waist band of her skirt. She was a slender woman, tall curvy with dark skin, her black hair was tied up into a small bun on her head and tiny strings of her hair fell on her face. She re shouldered her small bag and breathed out lowly. She knew that if she stayed outside any longer, she’ll lose the nerve. She started to walk towards the building her platform heels making a small clicking sound as it came in contact with the sidewalk. She looked up at the sign that read Maya modelling agency. It was pale gold ad had a bit of light even though some bulbs seemed unable to produce light. Kim pushed open the glass doors and walked into the building. It smelt of fresh roses and expensive perfumes. The lobby was filled with workers rushing around, dresses in their hands, Kim sighted a few models from the hall of fame. The hall of fame was a large hall in central Hollywood that held the images of people who had made it. Kim on felt herself falling back, she let out a small scream, but strong hands wrapped around her waist and pulled her up to a standing position. Kim sucked in a breath as she stared at the man before her, his hands still wrapped around her waist. It was Leonardo Kavinsky, the youngest model to make the hall of fame. He looked better in real life than in pictures. Damn. He was tall, dirty blonde hair and the most enchanting blue eyes. He was dressed in just a polo shirt and jeans, but he could go on the runways and still look amazing. “I trust you’ll look where you are going next time” he said, his deep baritone coming out in a husky tone. He let go of her waist and shoved his hand deep into his pocket.
“sorry, I’m sorry” she stuttered pulling her gaze away from his.
“i haven't seen you around, are you a new model?” he asked, tilting his head to the side. She gulped.
“well...I..uh ”she was interrupted by one of the workers, who was rushing towards them.
“Mr. Kavinsky prep is about to start” he said in a rush, breathing heavily. Leonardo nodded and turned to me “see you around then” he muttered giving me a short wave. Kim stared at him retreating until he disappeared down the corridor. She turned and headed to the receptionist. The receptionist was a blonde lady with a huge hair do. She smiled revealing a set of gold encrusted teeth.
“Hi, I’m Brittany what can I do for you?”
“um. I’m Kim Stephens, the model to replace Lara”
Brittany paused for a moment then grinned. “Yeah, I got you, Mr. Rogers is waiting” she pointed towards the elevator “3rd floor, office on the right” Kim nodded and turned towards the elevator. Fortunately, she was the only one that was in it. She clicked the no 3 and the elevator shot up with a lunge. For some reason, she hated elevators because when they moved, they seemed to take her guts with them, so it was a relief when it stopped, and she was able to step out. The 3rd floor was a bit quieter than the lobby. She walked to the office and knocked. She jumped when the door opened suddenly. “Sorry, I thought it was someone else, welcome anyway, I’m Mr. Rogers and you must be Miss Stephens”
Kim smiled “yes” she replied shaking his hand.
“Fine, fine” he muttered, moving away to let her into the office. The office had a dark themed interior that matched the black leather seats and the cabinets. ‘All the way from Florida?” he asked falling into his huge leather seat.
“Yeah, change of scenery”
Mr Rogers shrugged “well tonight, we'll be having a party to welcome all new models, your room is on the 6th floor with others” he handed her a key card. “See you around” Kim turned and headed out of the office, a huge grin on her face.
