My name is Li Qiusi, a third-generation rich who is decidedly unhappy. Yes, profoundly unhappy, no amount of money can bring happiness.

Money can't resurrect my father, can't buy my mother's sense of responsibility, can't ensure a worry-free childhood for me and my younger siblings, can't purchase my grandfather's health.

Moreover, it certainly can't buy a marriage where both parties are mutually in love.

Yesterday was my 28th birthday, and the only person with me was Yun Hui, my best friend.

My birthday wish is especially cruel: I wish a woman named Leng Lu would die.

Yun Hui didn't criticize me; instead, she hugged me and we sank into silence together.

She told me long ago, once a woman ages, her perspective on men changes.

When I asked her how it changes, she leaned over to my ear, smirked mischievously, and whispered something.

I always took it as a joke; after all, I have lived the life of a widow for five years, my husband, Zhong Ting, never touches me.

Today, I am hell-bent on making him the cuckold, to vent my anger, to gift myself a birthday present.

The suite in Yun mansion was serene. The snapping sound at the door startled me slightly, I turned around and saw Tan Yueming standing at the entrance, resplendent in suave clothing, with a smile on his face.

Tan Yueming is incredibly handsome, has long legs, a standard tall and broadly built frame, his handsome features are as sharp as if they've been chiseled out, his peachy eyes misty, absolutely captivating.

Contrary to Zhong Ting's elegance, his smile always carries a hint of roguishness, making him the perfect lover for a fling.

He is not shy at all. He came up and wrapped his arms around me, his warm breath on the back of my ear quickening my heartbeat. "Qiusi, you won't tease me this time, right?" He asked.

I remain silent. Convincing myself that no matter what, I have to take the plunge this time-- as every time we meet, I've been the one making moves, and each time I've let him down, always holding back. Not anymore.

I clenched my teeth, wrapped my arms around his neck, smiled winsomely, "This time, it won't happen."

He didn't say anything, just curved his lips and set his hands on my waist, kissing me passionately like a bursting volcano as we made our way into the bedroom.

Tan Yueming is an undisputable master at cultivating delights, quickly causing people to lose sense of their surroundings, stirring up electrifying feelings.

Just as we were deeply absorbed in our passionate kiss, my phone rang.

I glanced at it, and instantly it felt like a basin of cold water was dumped on my head. I pushed him away like a startled egret.

He paused slightly, smiled helplessly, "Li Qiusi, you're not very nice, always hurting people. My patience has its limits too."

Without further ado, he got up and entered the bathroom.

I had no idea how much time passed before he came out fully dressed, lit a cigarette, and sat silently on the sofa puffing away.

Feeling uneasy, I whispered an apology. He glanced at me, half-smiling, knocked off the ash from his cigarette, "Forget it, it's my fault for falling for a married woman like you. Come on, I'll drive you to the airport."

By the time we returned to Nandu, it was already dusk. Zhong Ting and I lived in a villa on the southern outskirts of town.

As the driver pulled into the garage, I saw Zhong Ting helping Leng Lu into a taxi.

Leng Lu was in a light white dress, her long hair reaching her waist, carrying a canvas bag on her wrist. She waved goodbye fondly at him and he watched her leave with the same affection.

Just one glimpse was like a needle pricking my heart. I asked the driver to bring my luggage into the living room and went straight to Zhong Ting.

Seeing me approach, his face showed little emotion. He just courteously said, "you're back," as if saying, "nice weather today."

I smiled faintly, looking in the direction Leng Lu left, "Why is this little canary here? I've told you that I won't let her into our house."
