The sky was dark, spangled with stars as the man stood with arrogance on his face while his one hand was resting in his pocket staring at the woman's silhouette reflecting at the large window mirror.

"I am planning to give you the Morris family villa." The man said coldly as the woman dropped her phone with her mouth opened in shock. The displeasure was written on her face but as the man turned she immediately hid it under her gentle smile.

"Hubby, We had a contract. I am not taking anything after divorce. Remember we had signed the contract without alimony."

The man frowned slightly at her words, as he threw another offer for her. "How about that Mauli Island I just bought. I will transfer it to your name, you can build a house there, call your friends over to stay with you and have fun. A whole island that belongs to you. Isn't it good?" He said cheerfully as he stared at her little yet attractive face.

The woman tried hard to not roll her eyes at his offer and tried to be as gentle as she could. "Hubby, I don't have any friends and also I don't think I will be able to take care of that huge island by myself."

"It's okay, I am always here to help. You can come to me." The man offered politely as the woman started panicking in her mind. "No, I don't want to be entangled with you anymore."

"Hubby, you're too good with me for all these three years. I don't want anything at all." The woman said politely as she again dropped her head into her phone while the man stared at her intently.

Lucas Morris, a man that is known to take anything he showed interest in couldn’t manipulate his own wife’s mind. He knew that this marriage meant nothing to her but still he felt angry and disappointed by her behavior of not even trying for once to stop this divorce.

She looked determine and happy too to get divorced from him. Why?

At first, when he met this woman he had thought that she is the greediest woman he had ever seen and that was the reason why he made her signed a contract on their marriage night.

FLASHBACK

Lucas was pacing back and forth with cold sweat on his forehead, he kept looking at the main door where his people had just taken his grandmother. Lucas loves his grandmother, she is the only family who is close to him and after his parent died she is the one who has raised him with so much effort and hard work.

But now, as Lucas has turned 26, his grandmother has been forcing him to get married so that she could transfer their family assets to him.

Lucas was never interested in the family business as he has his own dreams. He has studied well and has become the first pilot of Broadway Airlines at the age of 21. He is the pride of his grandmother and he is proud of it but now as he seemed her in this bad state and only because of him, he felt distressed and uncomfortable.

It wasn’t like he didn’t want to get married it’s just the woman he liked had rejected him and now he felt too disheartened that he didn’t want to get into this marriage relationship but he can’t explain this to his grandmother no matter what.

He didn’t even want her to transfer the business to him but Grandma is reluctant to listen to anything.

A doctor rushed out of the door and Luca's attention went back to the door. “How is she?” He asked, his anxious voice was the proof of how much he cared for her.

The doctor shook his head in a helpless state. “Lucas, she is getting more stubborn day by day.”

“I know that,” Lucas replied as he patted the doctor’s shoulder.

“Why don’t you listen to her, Lucas? The happier she will be the more her health would get better.” He advised genuinely.

“Huh,” Lucas took a long sigh as he finally surrendered, “But I need a woman to get married, I can’t marry anyone.”

“She can help you in finding a good girl,” The doctor’s eyes shone with excitement as he rushed back into the hospital and Lucas’s face darkened, “Grandma,” He yelled in frustration. His grandma again played a trick on him.

***

“Grandma, instead of being old you still act like a child,” Lucas said unhappily as he was walking his grandmother to the car to send her back home.

“Stupid boy, How dare you called me old huh?” The grandma said angrily as she raised her crutch and hit Lucas’s head with it.

“Grandma,” Lucas shouted in annoyance as she kept hitting him unhappily and suddenly her crutch flew from her hand and hit someone.

“Ahh,” A voice came from the corner, it was late at night as the roads were empty and silent. The voice could clearly be heard by both of them.

“Who is it?” Grandma asked as Lucas stood in the guard.

“Show your face,” He yelled as he shielded his Grandma. It was late at night and also they both were alone on the street waiting for their driver to show up.

Lucas had never kept guards with him because he never thought of someone as a threat but as for his grandma, he had always protected her in every way.

At this moment, he was afraid that if someone from a rival company had sent anyone to harm his grandmother or any of their own family enemy.

After waiting for a few moments, Lucas could see a shadow walking out from the corner, he braced himself and fisted his hand to give that person a great lesson if he would make any move on them but surprisingly a petite woman walked to them with the crutch in her hand.

“This belongs to you,” She said politely as she stretched her hand holding the crutch.

When Grandma heard the woman’s voice she pushed Lucas aside and looked at the woman in curiosity.

The woman was wearing a long floral dress that is torn from multiple places and also her bare arms looked scratched and dirty. Her face looked bruised and dirty too with black marks. She didn’t look like a beggar neither a bad woman.

“What are you doing here in the middle of the night?” Grandma questioned her as the woman replied politely “I don’t have a home.”

“Any relatives?” Grandma asked her as the woman looked at her with her crystal clear eyes, which were filling with tears but she didn’t let it fall out from her eyes as she gently answered her.

“I have no one, I am all alone.”

Grandma is a wise woman and just by looking at her appearance and her way of speaking she could tell that the woman belonged to a noble family and was raised in a good atmosphere.

She stared at the woman for a while and then at Lucas who was looking at the woman in displeasure, suddenly something flashed in her mind as she said, "Young lady, come with me."
