  Chloe’s P.O.V

I screamed for help over and over again until I lost my voice, no one showed up until the very last second.

“Hey, are you alright down there?” A silhouette of a man stood against the rising sun and for a minute I thought he was a god.

“Please, please help me with my fiance, he got shot please?” I doubled over Colby’s body.

“Oh my god,” He rushed towards us; he had short white hair and eyeglasses.

He helped me pick him up and carry him out of the ally way.

“My car is right down here miss, I can drive the two of you to the hospital,” He says hurriedly.

I sniffled and nodded my cheeks sticky and wet from tears, come on Chloe you have to be the strong one now.

We carried him to the back seat of the man’s car and I sat with Colby with his head on my lap and I caressed his hair with tears still going down my face, my cheeks hurt from the salty tears on my cheeks, hiccuping the man sped our way to the nearest hospital.

  Passing building’s among buildings.

“Don’t worry, miss, we're almost there,” He says looking back in his mirror.

  “T-Thank you” I sniffled.

“You're going to be okay Colby,” Blood soaked his shirt and his bag was over my shoulder.

It was heavy but if it was Colby's I’ll hold onto it.

Finally, we made it to the hospital and the man helped me carry Colby inside.

“Excuse me, we need help,” The man called out to the nurses behind the counter and everybody ran toward us.

Suddenly everything felt like it all went in slow motion everything around me almost stopped and then suddenly went back to normal as he got ripped from my arms onto a gurney nearby next thing I know he’s being wheeled away through swinging doors and then he was gone.

I collapsed, my body shaking as I’m on my hands and knees my vision became blurry and my chest got tight and harder to breathe. I started crying. Large tears escaped my eyes and I began sobbing.

The stranger rubbed my back and told me he’s going to be okay, but I don’t believe him.

Suddenly a woman placed a hand on my head and I jumped and looked up to her and I shook and hiccupped from the amount of crying I’ve been through for the past two hours.

The woman was in a nurse’s outfit, she held out her hand to help me off the floor, I nervously took her hand and she helped me up helping me walk to a chair in the waiting room, she took the seat next to me.

“That man is your fiance?” She asked as I wiped my eyes and I nodded.

“He’s quite handsome,” The young nurse says with a small smile, I nodded again with a small smile back.

“You're quite into the bad boy’s huh?” She says playfully bumping me in the shoulder, I shrugged since I’m not really understanding what she means by that.

“How old are you?” She asked.

  “Eighteen,” I say small.

“Oh honey, you really should call your parents,” The nurse says and it made me angry, why does no one understand that I don’t have parents?

  “I don’t have parents,” I say sighing.

“Did you get into a fight with them, I’m sure they don’t mean any of what they said,” She smiled gently.

“No, I mean I don’t have parents, at least not that I know of,” My eyebrows knitted together.

I remembered what Hayley said, ‘everyone has parents’.

“You mean you never met them, who took care of you all these years?” She tilted her head in curiosity, and I started crying again.

“C-Colby always kept me safe, and n-now he's, he’s…” I stuttered as I sobbed and she wrapped an arm around my shoulder comforting me.

The man from before is gone and I never got to thank him for helping me.

“Colby will be alright, you’ll see,” She smiled gently before a chubbier lady came into the room.

“Kelly your husband is on the phone,” The chubby woman says.

She had mocha skin and dark brown eyes, she was also wearing a nurse's outfit.

“I’ll be right there, Carla,” The woman ‘Kelly’ says back getting up.

“Don’t worry too much, okay, I’m sure he will be fine,” Kelly says before she walked away, and I was alone again.

I put my hands through my hair taking a deep breath, this is the first time I was ever alone other than what happened at the Diner and even then I made a friend.

What do I do now, where do I go, do I just stay here?

There are so many questions and no one to answer them, I’m scared and I just want Colby back.

Wait a second, Hayley gave me her number but it's in Colby’s jacket, will the nurse Carla get it for me if I ask her?

I got up and walked over to the woman's desk; she was writing something on a clipboard before she looked up.

“Can I help you?” She asked looking at me standing in front of her.

“Um, I was wondering if you can get something for me,” I say slowly.

“Alright what would that be?” She asked.

She wrote down something on the clipboard again.

“My fiance they took him in about fifteen minutes ago, in his jacket there’s a note with my friend's number on it, she's the only contact I have, I was wondering if there was a way I could get it and use a phone,” I say rubbing my tear-dried eyes.
