"I fvcking hate you!" I screamed at Lukas.
His low chuckle chilled me to the bone and I involuntarily took a step back from him, as he took a few menacing steps forward.
"You weren't saying that when I had you tied to my bed, with my face buried beeen your thighs." He sneered.
Fury took over me, and before I could think about it, I was in front of him, my hand swinging back to punch him in the face. Before my hands could touch his face, he grabbed my wrists, pulling me agat him. I thrashed agat him, trying to free myself, only to brush agat the stiff erection in his shorts.
"Now listen to me, and listen to me very well Rhea. You're going to do what the fvck I say, or I will kill all your family members one by one. Starting with your papà. Got me?"
"You cannot fvcking do this to me, father!" I yelled indignantly.
"You better watch your fvcking mouth!" He barked, causing me to roll my eyes.
"How else would you expect me to react, after finding out you sold me?" I shot back, glaring at him.
"I had no choice, Rhea." He sighed.
"Yes you did! You loved that god**ned company, more than you loved me."
"You know that's not true." He whispered.
"Isn't it? Father, I told you I'm willing to help you, but I cannot believe that you would sell me to keep your fvcking company."
"I know, but you don't understand Rhea. This is not only about the company." He rubbed his temples, closing his eyes.
"The person I sold you to... If I didn't give you up, he was going to kill this entire family, including you, your mother and I." He whispered, looking up at me with defeated eyes.
"Oh." I breathed out quietly, my heart pounding in my chest.
"But father, I'm sure there's something else we can do." I pleaded, looking up at him with desperate eyes.
He shook his head sadly, looking up at me with remorse in his eyes.
"He'll be here in two hours. Go pack your things." He muttered.
"No! I'm not leaving!" I screamed, tears welling in my eyes.
I heard the door to my father's study open, and we both turned to the person. My mother hesitantly stepped through the door.
"I heard yelling." She said, still standing close to the door.
My father beckoned her over and she walked over to him, sitting on the desk next to him.
"I just told her." He mumbled, causing her eyes to snap over to mine.
"I'm sorry, i kóri mou," She whispered, her own eyes filling with tears.
My daughter
"Mom..." My voice broke.
I dug my teeth into my lip, stifling the sob that wanted to escape.
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you." She murmured, her hands clenching into fists.
I didn't answer, only turning to stare out the window. We all sat there for a while, in an uncomfortable, tense silence, before I stood abruptly, and left without saying a word. I walked straight into my bedroom, packing the clothes I really wanted, the few pictures I had, leaving behind my all my devices. I picked up a couple books that I wanted to read, before sitting on the bed, my head in my hands.
"Miss?" I heard the quiet voice of my favorite housekeeper, and looked up.
I could see the pity in her eyes, and I was thoroughly disgusted by it.
"Yes Madeline?" I asked, running a hand through my curls.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Not really, but I guess I don't really have a choice, but to be okay with it, right?" I smiled weakly, even though I'm pretty sure it came out more like a grimace.
She nodded and began moving around my room, fixing it up a bit.
"Do you want anything? Maybe something to eat or drink?" she asked.
"No thanks." I said.
I stood, going over to the nook in my room, and sitting in my big, comfy armchair, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Who knows? This may be the last time I get to enjoy this view.
