Basically, this is just a quick note about the story.
1. The heroine’s name is Aurora Batley. She has the same name as the lead in another one of my books, but the two stories are not connected at all. I just really like the name.
2. The heroine’s IQ equals the author’s IQ, the villains’ IQ is lower than the author’s IQ, and the author personally has no IQ. The novel’s logic depends entirely on the author’s logic, and yeah, the author has no logic either.
3. As long as it feels good, that’s the point.
4. About the heroine’s CP and all that—
Wouldn’t more be better?
This is a rich-girl, overpowered-female wish-fulfillment story. There will be no “strong heroine but even stronger man,” no male character taking the lead in the romance, and absolutely no one better than the heroine at showing off. Nobody is stronger than her.
5. This story does not include cultivation, martial arts, or anything like that. It’s just about the heroine spending money, buying stuff, and living it up. The system is only a tool that provides funds. There’s no hidden conspiracy or deep secret setup.
6. All the luxury brands in this story come from stuff I found online. If you’ve used or bought them before, please don’t roast me. I haven’t.
That’s all for now. If I think of anything else, I’ll add it later.
Aurora Batley opened her eyes to the slight shake of the plane.
“This aircraft is about to depart from Charles de Gaulle Airport for Metropolis Airport in Modu. Takeoff is imminent. Estimated flight time is ten hours. Dear distinguished passenger, please fasten your seatbelt.”
A low, gentle male voice drifted into her ears.
Aurora pushed herself up and looked around, quietly taking in the space around her.
Right now, she was half reclining in an oversized seat, with a blanket made of some unknown fur draped over her body.
The fur carried a faint fragrance. She couldn’t tell exactly what it was, but with her years of experience, Aurora could tell one thing right away—it was probably the scent of expensive wood incense, not the fake smell of air freshener or perfume.
She clicked her tongue inwardly.
That little blanket, the kind that barely covered half a person, probably cost at least tens of thousands.
She secretly pinched her arm.
Yep. That hurt.
Aurora suddenly remembered the words she’d heard before passing out. Testing the waters, she asked in her mind, “System, you there?”
A soft ding went off in her head, and a dialogue window popped up right in front of her eyes.
["Hello, Master. I am your Tycoon Spendthrift System."]
Aurora Batley stared at the panel, and a very specific kind of grievance welled up inside her, like: three years, then another three years, then another three years... do you even know how these nine years passed for me?
Aurora had once been a full-on chuuni girl.
No, to be exact, that was her in her previous life.
In that life, Aurora was born into a well-off family.
She had been ridiculously chuuni since childhood, but sadly, even by the time she turned thirty, no magical girl mascot had ever shown up asking her to save the world.
After her parents died in a car accident in her twenties, Aurora spent years doing nothing but saving money. Once she hit thirty and finally had enough tucked away, she started traveling around the world.
Two days ago, in some tropical rainforest, something she couldn't even identify bit her on the foot. The moment it happened, her head spun and her vision blurred.
Right before blacking out, Aurora heard a ding by her ear, followed by a flat mechanical voice saying, ["Ding ding—Host Aurora Batley has been bound. Tycoon Spendthrift System activated. If needed, the host may call for the system."]
So other people get a life-flashing-before-their-eyes moment before dying. Why is mine this weird? Aurora had thought.
And then she passed out.
When she woke up again, she was already here.
Aurora looked at the bizarre scene in front of her.
["The Tycoon Spendthrift System is at your service."]
Another line of text appeared before her eyes.
"So, what exactly can you do?" Aurora asked in her mind.
["Hello, Host. This system has two main panels in total: the Spendthrift Panel and the Shop Panel."]
["You may earn spendthrift points by spending the system's allocated funds, and then exchange those points for all kinds of items in the Shop."]
["You may silently recite 'System' to wake this system, silently recite 'Check Funds' to view today's allocated spendthrift funds, silently recite 'Points Query' to check your current spendthrift points, and silently recite 'Shop' to open the Shop Panel."]
【Here’s the system guide:
1. The currency provided by this system works across all dimensions and all countries.
2. The system’s currency will not disrupt the current planet’s monetary market or financial structure, so please don’t worry.
3. This system is only responsible for issuing a daily spend-it-all allowance. There is only one task line, with no extra mandatory missions, so please relax.
4. The funds for your lavish spending will be transferred from the panel directly to your bank card. If the card is lost, the money will automatically return to the panel.
5. The system has already prepared the host’s background perfectly. No one will be able to trace the source of the host’s funds.
6. Final interpretation rights belong to this system.】
【The rest is for the host to discover on her own.】
Aurora Batley scanned the panel, her gaze stopping on the words “Final interpretation rights belong to this system.”
…Yeah. That shady, scammy vibe felt weirdly familiar.
She tapped the words “Memory Implant.”
The good news was, she hadn’t transmigrated with her body, and she hadn’t possessed anyone either. This body had most likely been built by the system from scratch, with zero blood relatives.
Honestly, that was perfect. Way easier for her to act cool, flex hard, and slap faces when needed. No family ties, no emotional baggage.
Next, she’d be heading to Longguo’s Modu to register at Modu University.
Yep, that’s right. This body had just turned eighteen.
Aurora Batley quietly lifted a hand and touched her face, feeling that soft, springy collagen.
Being young really was awesome.
“Pull up my main task line.”
She spoke in her mind.
The panel in front of her instantly changed.
【Series Mission 1: Successfully enroll in Modu University. Relevant information must be figured out by the host.】
Get into Modu University?
Now that was actually kind of interesting.
Only then did Aurora Batley really start looking around at the space she was in.
According to the memories in her head, this was her eighteenth birthday present: a private jet.
A BBJ3 business jet, made by Boeing.
It was built off the new-generation Boeing 737 platform, fitted with blended winglets and nine auxiliary fuel tanks. The cabin space in this series was usually about three times larger than that of a typical long-range business jet.
The exterior was a sleek liquid-silver color, and inside the cabin was a massive lounge of nearly a thousand square feet, filled with comfortable furniture and all kinds of premium amenities. No wonder people called it the “flying hotel.”
Aurora glanced around the jet’s interior.
Yeah, “flying hotel” really wasn’t an exaggeration. The cabin was insanely spacious. Her seat was by the window, and she could clearly see the view outside... though honestly there wasn’t much to look at. Just a huge stretch of white, with the occasional flash of blue slipping by.
The seat she was in was a recliner. She had no clue what leather it was made of, but it felt ridiculously soft. More importantly, it didn’t have that weird unpleasant smell regular business-class leather seats always seemed to carry.
There was also a separate lounge area for the flight attendants, both male and female. Without her permission, none of them would come out.
The aircraft came with one captain, two co-pilots, three female attendants, and three male attendants. Every one of them had signed a five-year contract with her. It was a full private aviation team, the legit kind where everyone was fully licensed.
Of course, hiring them cost an absolutely insane amount too. The team’s monthly salary was five million dollars. As for how they split it among themselves, that was their business.
Farther off was a small bar, and beyond that there was even a mahjong and card room. Next to it was a kitchen. Every flight attendant, male or female, held a chef’s certificate, and on the plane they also doubled as personal life assistants.
That included, but definitely wasn’t limited to, cooking and massages.
Aurora stretched lazily, then picked up a small bag from the seat beside her.
An LV handbag. Close to a hundred thousand.
She ran her fingers over the smooth, luxurious texture and couldn’t help quietly marveling at how crazy rich people lived.
Then she pulled out her file from inside.
There was an admission letter from Modu University, a tuition payment slip, and a stack of personal documents.
Aurora Batley lowered her eyes to the date on the offer letter and did a quick mental count. By the time the plane landed in Modu, it would be just morning. She could grab breakfast after landing, buy a house, get a car, chill for a couple of days, and then school would start.
She lifted a hand and pressed the call button by her seat.
A flight attendant came over at a quick tap-tap pace.
Aurora looked her over. The attendant had a slim waist and good height, with those neat little airline heels on. She wasn’t the kind of stunning, seductive beauty that novels loved to hype up, but she was definitely above average. Oval face, clear features, fresh and pleasant to look at, the kind of face that naturally made people feel at ease.
“Ms. Batley, is there anything you need?”
Wang Lan stopped in front of Aurora, bent slightly at the waist, and asked with a polished, graceful smile on her face.
“Please get me a glass of water. Warm is fine.”
Aurora’s tone was calm.
Wang Lan smiled and answered, “Of course.”
Then she turned and headed to the galley in her heels, poured a cup of warm water, and set it gently on the table in front of Aurora.
“Do you need anything else?”
She was still wearing that perfect, practiced smile, flawless enough to be copy-pasted.
“No, that’s all. Thanks.”
Aurora took a sip of the warm water as she spoke.
Wang Lan nodded, then clicked away again in her heels.
The moment Wang Lan stepped back into the crew lounge, another flight attendant, Alice Sullivan, came up from behind and gave her a light smack on the back.
“Lily, Lily, what’s the client like?”
Alice asked, eyes full of curiosity.
Their team had only just wrapped up a three-year contract with their last employer. They hadn’t even had a proper break before this new order dropped.
A full five years of accompanying the private jet from start to finish, and each of them could pocket hundreds of thousands of dollars a month.
Compared to their last employer, an Arab tycoon, this one was way more generous.
They’d already braced themselves to serve some impossible, high-maintenance middle-aged rich guy. Who would’ve thought that after waiting forever in the private terminal, the person they got was a delicate little girl instead?
And she was from Longguo too.
The employer’s name was Aurora Batley. She looked maybe seventeen or eighteen. A bodyguard-type guy had driven her all the way to the airport in that unreleased Maserati concept sports car.
After boarding, she only had them introduce themselves, paid a full year of salary in advance, then leaned back in her seat and fell asleep.
They hadn’t even gotten a proper look at her face before she was out. Every one of them was dying of curiosity, and Alice Sullivan was the worst of the bunch.
Now that the boss had called for service, of course she had to ask.
Lily Harrison thought for a moment, then said, "She just feels like a normal teenage girl, honestly. Just ridiculously pretty. Not as hard to deal with or arrogant as I expected either. She only asked for a glass of warm water."
Alice Sullivan let out an "Oh."
Honestly, that wasn’t too surprising.
The girl’s outfit looked plain at first glance, but every piece of fabric was obviously expensive. And that Maserati? That wasn’t something you could buy just because you had money.
Take this private jet alone. Buying it outright cost nearly six hundred million dollars. Without a seriously powerful family background, who would spend that kind of money on a private plane?
Still... they’d never heard of any top rich family with the surname Batley.
Lily Harrison gave Alice Sullivan a light pat and said, "Alright, enough gossiping. Be careful, the boss might call for us again in a minute."
Meanwhile, Aurora Batley switched on the ventilation system and lowered the recliner until it turned into a bed.
Then she put on an eye mask and went right back to sleep.
When she woke again and pulled off the mask, the person in front of her was another flight attendant.
Heather Atkins looked at the girl before her, crouched down slightly, and woke her in a gentle voice.
"Ms. Batley, the plane will be landing in five minutes."
Aurora Batley had just woken up, her voice still a little hoarse as she gave a soft "Mm." The flight attendant immediately, very tactfully, handed her a glass of water.
Aurora Batley took a few sips of water from the flight attendant’s pale, delicate hand, then shifted a little in her seat. To her surprise, her body didn’t have that awful stiffness that usually came after sleeping for ages.
She had no clue whether that was because of the system or because this recliner was just ridiculously comfortable.
Aurora went to the restroom, did a quick wash-up, came back out, flipped through a book for a bit, and before long, the plane began to land.
It came to a stop at the parking stand of Pudong International Airport.
Parking the jet there cost around three hundred thousand a month.
The system had privately booked out Line 3 for Aurora. From the aircraft exit all the way to the outer doors, there would be no one else on that route except staff.
Carrying her bag, Aurora stepped off the plane with co-pilot Ethan Harrison by her side.
———
The person in charge of Line 3 at Pudong International Airport had personally checked the entire route from the aircraft exit to the main doors. Only after confirming there was no trash, no stains, no mess anywhere did he finally let out a breath.
Line 3 had been booked long-term by a private client. Every time it was needed, they would be notified a day in advance. The private jet was also parked at their airport year-round. The maintenance fees, parking fees, and private booking fees added up to a straight-up astronomical number. This client was one of their biggest VIPs.
After confirming everything was spotless inside and out, he received word from the control tower that the plane had landed safely. He quickly put on a warm, professional smile and went over to the aircraft exit.
The first person to come out was a man in a co-pilot’s uniform. He was tall, neat-looking, and pretty striking. He opened his mouth and said, “Ms. Batley, watch your step.”
The supervisor understood immediately. This Ms. Batley was the person they needed to treat with extra care.
Thinking of the file his boss had handed him earlier, he stepped forward and said, “Hello, Ms. Batley. I’m Wesley Mercer, the person in charge of Line 3 at Pudong International Airport. It’s an honor that you chose our Line 3. Welcome back home.”
According to the file, this Ms. Batley was a Dragon Country national returning from Paris.
That was basically all the information there was.
Wesley Mercer didn’t dig any deeper.
People in this line of work knew best what to ask and, more importantly, what absolutely not to ask.
Aurora glanced at the man in front of her. His gaze didn’t make her uncomfortable in the slightest, which made her quietly satisfied. She said, “Thank you. Please arrange a car for me from the airport to the Glory Manor sales office.”
The supervisor replied with a smiling, “Of course,” then turned around and hurried off to arrange the car.
Aurora Batley parted ways with Ethan Harrison at the transfer point.
When the crew on the private jet were off duty, their food, clothes, housing, and travel were all covered by Aurora Batley. The system had directly dropped a monthly allowance of one hundred thousand into each person’s card. Pretty straightforward, no messing around.
After that, she got into the Bentley arranged by the airport and headed straight for the sales center at Glory Manor.
Glory Manor was the villa community closest to Modu University.
The neighborhood had everything. The amenities were stacked. There were three sightseeing lakes, the kind where people could actually go boating. Even the koi in the water were the pricey ornamental kind, worth several hundred a fish. And yeah, there were even professional fish caretakers tending them every single day. Just hearing Ethan Harrison explain it on the way over, Aurora Batley was already sold.
Anyway, she wasn’t short on cash now, so why not buy one first and stay there to test the vibe?
Aurora Batley opened the system panel and checked today’s spendthrift quota.
A full two hundred million.
Without hesitation, she transferred the entire amount onto her card, then let the driver take her all the way to the Glory Manor sales office.
The moment she stepped inside, a saleswoman came up with a warm smile. “Hello, miss. What kind of home would you like to take a look at?”
It was Clara Harrison.
She was one of the veteran agents at Glory Manor.
The way she spoke was polished, very professional.
Normally, she would ask what kind of house the customer wanted to look at, not what kind they wanted to buy. First, it didn’t put pressure on the customer. Second, it kept people from feeling annoyed. It was a tiny wording choice, but honestly, it mattered a lot.
Clara Harrison discreetly sized up the young girl in front of her.
The girl was dressed very simply. No luxury accessories, no little details that casually screamed money. Even the hair tie was just a plain black one. Casual clothes, ordinary sneakers, nothing flashy at all.
Her temperament didn’t particularly stand out either.
Clara Harrison didn’t really expect this girl to be able to buy one of the villas she handled, but she still greeted her with the sweetest smile she could manage.
Back when she’d first joined and gone through training, the instructor had said something she never forgot: even if a beggar walks in, you still smile and serve them properly. Your service isn’t for the people who can’t afford it to appreciate. It’s for the people who can afford it to see.
She had always thought that made total sense.
Because of that consistently good service, even though plenty of people couldn’t afford a villa in Glory Manor, the place still had one of the best reputations among all the villa compounds.
Online, you could hardly find any gossip or bad press like Glory Manor bullying customers or looking down on people.
Clara Harrison smiled at Aurora Batley and said, “I have most of the common floor plans currently available on the market. If you already know what you need, you can tell me and I’ll recommend something suitable. Or, if you want, you can also look around first by yourself.”
