The full moon hung high in the smooth night sky, projecting an ethereal shine over the thick timberland that circled the old werewolf area. The air was filled with anticipation in the center of this magical woodland. In the midst of the transcending trees and the unpleasant cries of night animals, a fabulous festival was in progress. The Moonshadow Pack had assembled to witness the young werewolves who were going to shift for the first time. Flickering pennants embellished with the seal of a furious wolf's head shuddered in the breeze, and the inebriating fragrance of wildflowers blended with the smells of simmering game and newly prepared bread.

A young woman named Adira was moving gracefully through the crowd. Her heart was beating fast in her chest. She had long, brown hair flowing down her back, and her green eyes were shining with a mix of excitement and fear. She was wearing a flowing dress of deep red color, which highlighted her curves, but her elegance seemed to be forgotten in the midst of all the excitement.

Adira was born into the Beta family called the Silverclaws. Her family was strong and powerful, but Adira was different. Two years ago, she was also in this festival for her first shift. However, while the others shifted into their wolf form, she simply stood there staring at the moonlight- as if she was entranced. She became an outcast after that. Her family reassured her that her wolf will emerge at the right time. Every year, Adira had attended the festival, hoping that she would finally transform into her wolf form. But each time, she left disappointed. Her heart was heavy with unfulfilled longing.

Tonight, Adira had her eyes set on Alaric, the mysterious and handsome soon-to-be Alpha. His black hair was flowing over his shoulders, and his intense blue eyes showed authority that even the bravest werewolves respected. As the evening light filtered through the trees, Adira's gaze was fixed on Alaric, who was at the center of a group of admirers. He was captivating everyone's attention with his presence. Her heart raced, and she felt a surge of confidence. Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward, her red dress swaying around her.

Just as she was about to approach the prince, a familiar voice cut through the air. "Adira, there you are!"

Adira turned to see her cousin, Elara, approaching with a cheerful smile. Elara had become a werewolf early in her life, and her silver hair was shining in the twilight. She was graceful and strong, and even though Adira loved her dearly, a twinge of envy usually accompanied her presence.

"Hi, Elara," Adira greeted, trying to hide her disappointment. "What brings you here?"

"I've been looking all over for you," Elara said, her bright eyes gleaming mischievously. "Come on, let's join the dance. I heard that the Lycan Prince is here to initiate the ceremony!"

Adira couldn’t care less about anyone aside from Alaric. Before she could respond, a soft, melodic shout echoed through the clearing, signaling the start of the ceremony.

"Maybe later," Adira replied, her gaze returning to the prince, who was now engrossed in conversation with a striking female werewolf.

Elara followed her gaze and spoke knowingly. "Adira, you really need to let go of this obsession. Alaric hardly notices anyone outside his inner circle."

Elara's words hit Adira hard, but she was determined not to be discouraged. “ Elara, there are some things that we could not just easily let go of. For me, it’s Alaric.”
