Anita Baker was a 24-year-old lady and the first daughter of her parents. She had five younger sisters. Her father was a banker, while her mother was a trader.

Anita was fair in complexion, very beautiful, with a sexy, curvy waist. All her sisters were dark, with only her being fair in complexion.

Anita looked like her mother but was more beautiful. Sometimes her father would accuse her mother of cheating on him, and he doubted he was truly her father, as she was so fair-skinned. But her mother always kept quiet about it and told her not to mind her father, assuring her that she was really his child.

Her father even threatened to run a DNA test on her, as he couldn't understand why she was so fair, unlike the rest of her sisters.

Her immediate younger sister, Flora, who was a dark-skinned beauty, 22 years of age, also disliked her.

About four of her sisters hated her, except for her youngest sister, Glory Baker, who genuinely loved her.

They say blood is thicker than water, but in Anita's case, water was thicker than blood.

Anita's father, Mr. Joshua Baker, didn't stop sending Anita to school, as he only accused his wife of cheating on him in the past and forcing another man's child on him so he could marry her. But nonetheless, he still sent Anita to the university to study business administration.

Anita was thrilled as she wrote her final exams, and the results finally emerged in flying colors.

Well, due to her father's constant accusations against her calm mother, Mrs. Tonia Baker, Anita had refused to accept any relationship from any guy who was asking her out to become his woman.

She only went on dates with them but ended up rejecting their love proposals.

Her best friend at the university, Temisa Patrick, also advised her to give love a chance. But Anita refused and said, "My father constantly accused my mother of cheating on him. Yet he still went to her to get her pregnant, and she birthed the six of us. My mother says that my father does love her, but his insults to her daily don't show us that he genuinely loves her at all."

Anita shook her head in sadness as she spoke to her best friend, Temisa Patrick, inside their room when they were still in year two at the private university.

Handsome guys were tripping to become Anita's boyfriend, but she felt they only wanted to use her, and once a guy crossed the bridge and broke her virginity, he would change and dump her or accuse her of cheating on him. Just like how her father constantly accused her mother of cheating on him and wanted to send her mother and likewise herself into depression.

Anita sat on a chair in the private room that she shared with Temisa Patrick. They were preparing for their final convocation in school.

"Anita, I am so happy. Finally, we will be leaving this school. I cannot explain how much I have missed home already," Temisa said.

"Me too," Anita faintly replied. Well, she knew that it wasn't entirely true for her, as she hated home and knew that she would be facing her father's constant insults towards her and her mother again.

While her three younger sisters—Flora, Esther, and Favor—would want to torment the hell out of her, calling her an "outcast," as they were jealous of her looks, like it was entirely her fault.

Anita shook her head in sadness, and Temisa noticed.

"What is it, girlfriend? You don't seem to look happy, even though you are graduating as one of the best graduating students in our university today," Temisa asked.

She stood up from her seat, which was facing the mirror, and walked up to meet Anita, who sat on the chair alone, shaking her head in sadness instead of packing her box of clothes.

"What's the problem, dear?" Temisa asked again as she approached and crouched in front of Anita, even though she already knew what the problem really was.

Anita had told her why she hated men in general and saw them as scumbags.

"Don't worry, girlfriend. When I get home, I will talk to my mother to allow you to come live with us, even if it is just for your I.T., until you get a better job to cater for yourself," Temisa offered.

"Thank you," Anita replied as she smiled faintly at Temisa.

She knew that Temisa cared for her, but she didn't want Temisa to worry.

"You're welcome, dear. You know that you're like a sister to me. So you don't have to worry much, as graduating with a first class is no joke here, and you should be happy, as today is your most blessed day. Come sit here and let me help you apply some makeup to your face," Temisa said, and gently pulled Anita to stand up from her seat and walk with her to the chair that was facing the mirror in the room that they shared.

"You know that I don't like makeup on my face," Anita said as she sat on the chair that Temisa pulled out in front of the room mirror.

"I know, but today is your lucky day. So you should look sweet when you're collecting your awards as the best graduating student today at our university. No more excuses from you; just do this for me, okay? It will make you smile throughout the whole of today and lighten your mood," Temisa said, and she opened one of her makeup kits and started preparing her brush.

"Okay," Anita replied, and she stared at her beautiful yellow reflection that was displaying on the mirror while Temisa started applying the beautiful brown powder to her face.

Temisa started on Anita's eyelashes first; after that, she switched to working on Anita's cheeks and nose.

Temisa applied the beautiful makeup powder to Anita's face, and as she finished making Anita's face up, Anita was stunned by her new look in the mirror, and she gasped, "Wow!"

Anita had never applied any makeup to her face before, and staring at her new reflection in the mirror, she was speechless. Now she understood why Temisa had so many boyfriends.

Temisa was a billionaire's daughter, and her father worked for Benson Group, which was one of the biggest companies in their state.

The Benson family was also one of the richest in their country. Anita had read about the Benson family online, and she wished that she could get an application to work with the famous company. This was the reason why she studied her books and read day and night, just to graduate as one of the best students in her department.

Anita had thought of asking Temisa for her father's help for an application in Benson Group. But she knew if she did that, it might seem like she was trying to gain a favor that she did not merit, and make others see her as a gold digger or a lady who was selling out her body to men to gain favor from them.

So she thought against it and decided to submit her own application to the company by herself.

"All done now. Don't you see how you look so sweet in the mirror? Oh my God! I am the best makeup artist here on campus!" Temisa fanned herself with her fingers to blow a breeze on her face.

Anita smiled at her sweetly and replied, "Don't overhype yourself too much because of me, girlfriend. Yes, you tried, but no, I still don't like makeup," Anita admitted.

"Tar! Shut up. I am hoping that a handsome man will see you today and ask you out." Temisa giggled; everything to her was about a relationship. She was actually mean when it came to relationships, as she changed her boyfriend every month like pants.

Temisa was in multiple relationships, and she didn't care what her fellow ladies had to say.

Temisa didn't believe in love, and rather spent her time dating different men. Well, she never admitted to sleeping with any of the men that she had gone out on a date with, as she only claimed to snap pictures with them.

This was something difficult to believe, as Anita didn't believe her. Since Temisa was usually spotted with different men—some at the beach, some in a restaurant, and some in a clubhouse—taking different photos with her. Yet she claimed she was still a virgin, after Anita also told her she was also a virgin.

Anita didn't believe Temisa, as she believed that a virgin was supposed to be calm and keep to herself, so no guy would use her. But Temisa dressed hot, wearing bum shorts, crop tops, and all sorts of seductive and tempting wear.

Temisa was a dark-skinned beauty, with a sexy curve like Anita. But she wasn't jealous of Anita being light-skinned, as they were in the same department and also studied the same course, which made them become best friends.

Anita was more intelligent than Temisa, while Temisa was the party-hard type.

"Let's go outside now. I am sure that most of our family members would have arrived for the party," Temisa said, as she quickly packed her remaining things into her box, keeping her makeup kits, and zipped closed her box of clothes.

Temisa had rented the room where they were staying, so they stayed back most of the time in the room, even though the school was on holiday.

It was their final year to say goodbye. Anita dragged her two boxes of clothes out, as she was already going back home after the awarding ceremony ended.

They stepped out to witness the university's final event and the awarding of the best graduating student.

Anita Baker was called and awarded a first-class award and recognition for her academic excellence.

Temisa was all smiles as she sat in the crowd and clapped for her best friend, who stepped out from where she was seated in the crowd and walked out to receive her awards.
