IN A catastrophic and restricted society of wealthy people, only those in the upper classes have freedom. While people who fall into low positions are destined to serve their masters. This is the policy and way of life of the Wrath Organization. If your ancestor is already part of this organization, it will pass on to the next generation. No one can escape even in this modern age.
From the time each member reaches the age of nine, the symbol of the organization will be engraved on their skin. There are five symbols that can be engraved on them, it depends on their position in the society.
There are five levels in the organization. The first level consists of people in the highest ranks, they are called The Royalties, and the crown-shaped symbol is engraved on their skin. The next level consists of those in the middle rank, they are called The Deputies, and their symbol is diamond-shaped. While the last level has three sublevels, they are in the lowest rank.
The first sublevel is the so-called The Supports, and their symbol is sword-shaped. The second sublevel is the group of The Servants, and their symbol is pentagon-shaped. The last sublevel is the category of The Serfs, and their symbol is circle-shaped.
The Wrath Organization was formed due to the negligence of the Philippine Government. The economy collapsed. Many people have sold their lives to high-ranking people in the country.
This new society with its own way of governing is hidden from the knowledge of Government officials. If anyone knows about it they are silenced by bribes.
In forming this organization, the ten families in the highest rank provide their respective shares to fund it. If the family gives more shares, it means that they also rank higher within the first level.
Here is the current sequence of families within The Royalties group. The Morgan family leads with 25% shares. The Tan family is second with 15% shares. The other clan follows. Kang family has 11.75% shares, 10.25% in the Huang family, 8% from the Gabriel family. The sixth and tenth places are the Vermont family with 7.25% shares, 6.25% given by the Rakissa family, 6% from the Damian family, while the Gapuz family has only 5.70% and the Lazaga family with 4.80%.
Meanwhile, levels lower than The Royalties are merely subject to all their commands. Low-ranking members are those who are unable to repay their debts to the higher-ups. Some of them even sold their lives because of poverty. The higher your debt, the lower your status and position in the society.
A misfortune that there is no escape if your family already belonged here.
THE FAMILY of Rio Louis 'Uno' Guia is one of the many families included in the sublevel The Supports. They have no power to be free. Somehow they have the right to do restorative activities, unlike the two sublevels which are inferior to them who have no right at all.
It was a sunny afternoon and Uno was riding a horse on a vast ranch owned by the Huangs. The Huang family are their masters and who owned them.
As he was on his way home he saw a truck. The back of the truck is made of railing walls. Because of the railing, it made him see the captive members of the sublevel The Serfs. They are like prisoners. Most were adults, young men, and four boys. It looks like the Huangs will sell them to other higher-ups families.
When he passed in front of them they begged him to save them. Others even ask for water because they are thirsty. He estimated that about twenty people were detained inside the truck jail, they were under the care of Huang's deputies.
That means he can't interfere because people who are above him are watching over these slaves. However, his merciful heart was moved with pity for them. He stopped his horse in the hidden shade of the acacia tree.
He waited for the two Deputies to appear, who were scheduled to deliver the serfs. He concluded that the two just had a snack since they left the quarters. One of them is still holding a sandwich.
He quietly approached them from behind and he quickly kicked and punched them. The two fell to the ground one after the other. He is known as a good muay thai artist under the Huangs so it is easy for him when it comes to fighting.
He immediately got in the truck and drove it away from the area. He brought the serfs into the city and set them free. He did not think about the possible consequences of what he did.
The important thing is that he has done good to others even though the society in which they belong is so cruel.
After the serfs thanked him and ran away, he looked at the contract to find out whose family the captives he had released should be sold. The Tan family is written in the document and they will have to pay ten million pesos to the Huangs after receiving the serfs they ordered.
He drove the vehicle to the Manor of the Tan. At the gate of the rich manor owned by the Tan, he was met by the Deputies who were waiting for the serfs they had purchased. The Deputies were surprised when they found the cage behind the truck empty.
He got out of the vehicle with his hands raised, declaring that he will not fight.
"I released the serfs you ordered from the Huangs. I am here to accept my punishment," he stated his aim. His voice was gentle and calm even though sharp eyes were hurling at him. He understood that the mistake he had done was the reason why they looked at him like that.
"Take this man and bring him to the back of the quarters!" ordered the leader of the five Deputies who cornered him.
They obeyed the command of their leader. Two of them held both his hands and arms. They violently pushed him to walk and took him to the place where he would be punished.
He remained silent and let them do what they wanted. It would not be good if the Huangs were the ones to discover the mistake he committed because his family would be included in the punishment. So he chose to go straight to the Tan family.
It is better that he alone receive the consequences and no other innocent will be involved.
The subordinates tied both of his hands to the opposite pole at a distance of one meter. While his feet were glued together before being tied.
Behind him stood the leader of the Deputies who holds a whip. He prayed fervently and prepared himself for the punishment.
He cried out in pain when the first whip hit his back. His whole body felt excruciating pain after five lashes. His both arm was also hit by the whip.
He could not count the lashes he had received and how many minutes had passed. All he knew was that he needed to strengthen himself until the punishment was over.
His mind went blank for the next few minutes while his body became numb and tired. There is no certainty as to how long he will be able to handle this.
