The Capital City had never been this alive.

Colorful banners fluttered above the crowded streets, merchants loudly advertised their finest goods, and children ran between stalls filled with sweets, handmade toys, and sparkling ornaments. The annual Spring Festival had turned every corner of the city into a celebration.

Yet amidst the laughter and cheerful music...

One melody was unlike the rest.

It drifted gently through the air.

Soft.

Lonely.

Almost forgotten.

A melody so beautiful that people unconsciously stopped talking whenever they heard it.

No one knew where it came from.

Some believed a wandering musician had arrived in the capital.

Others simply followed the sound without thinking.

Meanwhile...

A young man carrying a basket of freshly purchased herbs slowly walked through the marketplace.

He wore simple clothes, nothing that distinguished him from the countless people around him.

Yet there was something strangely peaceful about him.

His name was...

Keshav.

He paused in front of a flower stall.

White lilies.

He smiled unconsciously.

"These again..."

The old florist laughed.

"You buy white lilies every year."

Keshav looked surprised.

"Do I?"

"You always do."

The old man wrapped several flowers together.

"But every time I ask who they're for..."

He chuckled.

"...you simply smile."

Keshav looked at the flowers.

Odd.

He couldn't remember buying them before.

Still...

They felt strangely familiar.

He paid for the bouquet and continued walking.

Then—

The first violin note echoed through the market.

Keshav stopped instantly.

His fingers loosened.

The lilies slipped from his hands and scattered across the stone road.

His heartbeat suddenly became uneven.

No...

It couldn't be.

Not this melody.

Not here.

Another note followed.

Then another.

The melody slowly unfolded through the bustling marketplace.

It wasn't loud.

Yet somehow...

Keshav heard nothing else.

His breathing grew heavier.

His vision blurred.

A strange ache spread across his chest.

"...Impossible."

He whispered the word without realizing it.

That melody...

He knew it.

Not because he had heard it before.

Because...

He had once taught it to someone.

Fragments of forgotten memories flashed before his eyes.

A moonlit garden.

White lilies dancing beneath the wind.

A small child laughing softly.

Tiny fingers clumsily holding a violin.

A gentle voice asking—

"Did I play it correctly?"

The memory disappeared before Keshav could grasp it.

He instinctively looked toward the source of the music.

The melody continued.

Beautiful.

Yet...

Incomplete.

The final notes were missing.

Just as they had always been.

Keshav's lips parted.

"No..."

Without another thought, he abandoned everything and ran.

---

People stared as he pushed through the crowd.

"Excuse me!"

"Move!"

"I'm sorry!"

The music grew clearer.

His heartbeat matched every note.

His chest hurt.

His eyes stung.

Why?

Why did hearing this melody make him feel as though he were about to lose someone all over again?

The market became increasingly crowded.

Dozens of people stood in a large circle.

Everyone watched silently.

Keshav squeezed between them.

"I'm sorry..."

"Please let me through..."

At last...

He reached the front.

And froze.

Standing in the center of the square...

Was a young man.

His long black coat moved gently with the spring breeze.

Dark hair framed an impossibly handsome face.

In his hands rested an elegant violin.

His fingers danced effortlessly across the strings.

But what stole Keshav's breath...

Were his eyes.

Silver-grey.

Clouded.

Unfocused.

Blind.

The world around Keshav disappeared.

His heartbeat stopped.

Those eyes...

Even after all these years...

He would recognize them anywhere.

The violin continued.

The final phrase approached.

As always...

The melody broke.

One note remained missing.

The young violinist's fingers hesitated.

Just like countless times before.

His expression remained calm.

Yet deep inside...

He waited.

He always waited.

For someone...

Who never came.

Keshav felt tears burning his eyes.

Almost unconsciously...

He whispered the missing notes.

Not loudly.

Barely louder than a breath.

Yet...

The unfinished melody finally found its ending.

The final phrase floated gently through the marketplace.

Perfect.

Complete.

Beautiful.

The violin suddenly fell silent.

The bow slipped from the young man's trembling fingers.

The entire marketplace became eerily quiet.

The young man stood perfectly still.

His breathing became uneven.

Slowly...

He lifted his head.

Though his blind eyes couldn't see...

They turned directly toward Keshav.

A tear escaped from beneath his lashes.

His lips trembled.

For years...

He had searched.

For years...

He had played the same incomplete melody.

For years...

He had believed the person who knew its ending had disappeared forever.

Then...

With a voice barely stronger than the wind...

He whispered,

"...I finally found you."

Keshav couldn't move.

Tears blurred his vision.

His own lips trembled.

He wanted to answer.

He wanted to say something.

Anything.

But no words came.

Only tears.

Around them...

The crowd looked utterly confused.

Nobody understood what had just happened.

Nobody understood why the blind violinist was crying.

Nobody understood why the stranger standing opposite him looked as though his entire world had just stopped turning.

Neither of them moved.

Not one step.

Not one word.

Only the spring breeze carried the lingering echoes of the melody between them.

---

A few steps behind the violinist...

Another young man suddenly turned.

His calm expression shattered.

Standing among the crowd...

He saw someone he thought he would never meet again.

A familiar face.

Older.

More mature.

Yet unmistakable.

His lips parted.

"...Amar?"

At the same moment...

The man standing behind Keshav slowly looked up.

His breathing stopped.

"...Dev?"

Years of waiting.

Years of searching.

Years of believing fate had been cruel.

Everything collapsed in a single heartbeat.

Dev smiled.

It was small.

Fragile.

Filled with countless sleepless nights.

"You came back..."

Amar lowered his head.

Tears quietly rolled down his face.

"I... couldn't find the way."

Dev laughed softly through his tears.

"I know."

Another long silence.

Then Dev whispered,

"I waited."

Amar looked at him.

"Every spring?"

Dev nodded.

"Every spring."

"Every festival?"

"Every one."

"And..."

Amar's voice broke.

"...you never stopped believing?"

Dev's answer came without hesitation.

"Some promises aren't meant to be forgotten."

The spring breeze carried the scent of white lilies across the square.

The melody had finally returned.

But none of them knew...

That this reunion was only the end of one story.

And the beginning of another.
