"Wake your lazy ass up, Ava," a high pitched voice came through my ears forcing me to open my eyes. The sun cast through the open window hitting straight into my face making it difficult for me to see who in the world was damaging my ear drums.
Of course, who else other than my best friend Hailey.
"Do I really have to get up?" I pouted covering my face with the soft pink pillows.
"Get up, unless you want to lose that maroon blazer and go back to wearing black like the rest of us," she squirmed tossing another pillow at me.
That would be social murder, if I got to wear that comman man black uniform again. In fact I loved the presidential maroon, it not only made me stand out from the rest of the students but it also made me look stylish as well.
Hailey picked up a book and hit the back of my head with it. "Get ready sleepy head," she said sharply like a strict mother. "We are having literature and you know who we share that with," she wiggled her eyebrows playfully.
"Oh my God!" I quickly jumped out of bed. "Could it be Gray."
No body knew about my big crush on Grayson Meyers except Hailey. And am glad she kept my secret till now.
"You have 20 minutes to doll up girl and make sure no other bitches steal Gray's attention from you. This is our last year here you need to get that man." Hailey shouted from the door before she left.
I removed the pillows from my face, looked up at the ceiling and smiled to myself.
Gray's brown like chocolate pudding eyes short black hair that I could run my fingers in all day long. Oh Lord! I was so madly in love with him.
The sad thing is that he never seemed to notice me not in the way I wanted him to. I had small chances especially with all those girls throwing themselves at him especially Raven who happens to be his so called childhood friends. She's such a bitch.
No offense it's not like she has ever done anything bad to me, I just hate her for taking all my future husband's attention.
In record time, I showered, brushed my teeth and put in my uniform. I sprayed myself with the lavender perfume my mom brought me from her trip in France. I grabbed my bagpack and dashed out of the door.
I run straight for the classes block, forced my way through the crowd of students on their way to different classes. I climbed the stairs. And then I pumped into someone my bag fellow on the ground and so was all my stuff in it.
"Am so sorry," I apologized hastily reaching down to gather my stuff.
"Watch where you going bitch?"
Who did this guy think he was? I hadn't gotten enough time to care for who he was. But right now with how disrespectful he was I was forced to do so, just to make sure I was going to send the right person for detention every day of the week.
"Excuse me you run into..." I looked up and my words were cut short by just whom I saw.
Dull gray eyes, messy ash blonde hair that seemed to have gone an entire month without seeing a comb. I continued scanning him from foot to toe.
Instead of putting the tie around the neck, it hung stupidly on his head like a head scarf. Where the hell was his blazer and then half the buttons of his white shirt were undone, exposing his naked...chest.
"Gross," I immediately turned away protecting my innocent eyes from the indecent sight before me.
"Fix your shirt!" I ordered him.
"Fix, my shirt!!" I heard him scoff. "Who the hell do you think you are girl?"
"Am the school presi..." Before I knew it, I was being pressed against the wall, caged in the bastard's arms. I tried to move away but he was too strong.
"Let me go you, fool!! I swear am going to report you to the..."
"Principal.." he finished for me.
He grinned evily and for a while he just looked me up and down with a scary predatory gaze. How unlucky of me, everyone was in class so there was no one to save me from this psycho.
"Just because you put on that silly maroon blazer, you're think you're special."
"I don't just think so," I spat at him confidently. "I know so."
"Yeah, so," he rolled his eyes something I found cute for a short while, till sense knocked back and reminded me that this was the naughtiest boy at Grimore academy, Ares Quinn. He was nothing but trouble.
Lucky for me, I heard footsteps approaching us, finally some rescue.
I didn't bother to wait for them. He stepped away from me, right after giving his warning. "Be careful of your movements. On one of these days, you're going to get what's coming to you."
He grinned evily like the psychopath he was, before disappearing down the stairs.
I wasted no time, not wanting to risk seeing the bad boy again. I hurried up the stairs and run into class. Lucky for me Mrs Sinclair had just arrived so I wasn't late.
* * *
The entire class I didn't understand a chapter, I wasn't even sure what novel was being read. My mind seemed to be else where all because of that douche bag Ares.
Just what did he mean by me being careful of my movements. Was he planning to do something to me. Oh God, please! Let it not be what am thinking. Ares and his stupid friends have a record in humiliating people. I wouldn't wish to be their victim.
What made it worse was the fact that he could never get expelled because his father gave the most funds to the school.
Those are the perks of being a trillionare's son, he gets away with everything. The principal favours him in each and everything no wonder he walks like he owns the school. That piece of shit!
"What's up with you, girl?" I looked up to see my French bestie taking a seat Infront of me with her tray of spaghetti and a juice box.
"What?" I tried acting innocent. "Am completely fine," I lied.
There was no way I was telling Hailey that the school's bad boy had just threatened me, that would make her faint. She will overreact ofcourse, that's what she is, a drama queen. But still I like every bit of her personality, she's the best friend any girl could ever ask for.
"Hello," she snapped her long fingers in my face bringing me from my thoughts. "Earth to Avalon, Estrella Lux, what's happening to you. You haven't been yourself since morning. You came late, those stupid girls took all of Gray's attention. You're losing focus here baby girl," she took a sip of her juice and ofcourse continued. "You need to keep your eyes on the ball, baby girl. You're losing Gray."
Just like I mentioned, she overreacts. If only she knew that Gray was far away from my thoughts at the moment. The person who engulfed them was none other than Ares. I was afraid of what that pig would do to me.
"You're lucky you have a best friend like me," her eyes lit up with that devious look in her hazel eyes, the look that told me she had done something I wasn't going to like at all.
"What did you do this time?" I sighed, knowing pretty well I was going to clean up her mess after whatever she did back fired.
"I didn't do anything wrong, it's just that..." She paused, gathered all my attention ofcourse.
"I might have switched some lists..."
"What!" I scoffed ready to scold her. "What lists?"
"Mr. Simmons met me on my way to the morning class, he had lots of things to carry so he asked me to help him."
"And!!" I half yelled ready to pop up like a balloon for what ever she was going to say next.
"I switched the lists, partened you up with Gray for the culinary arts class."
"No way!" I almost jumped out of my sit and was about to do my embarrassing victory dance but Hailey grabbed my hand and pulled me back into the seat.
"Don't ruin my efforts," she warned me and we happily had the rest of our lunch.
* * *
Every one had made their way into the culinary class, it was a luxury kitchen setting full of pans, chopping sticks, ovens and so many spices.
We were being paired by Mr. Simmons. Lucky for me I knew who I was paired up with already. I couldn't believe it, I was going to finally get the chance I had been hoping for half of my life. Being close to Grayson Meyers.
I didn't care who the third person was going to be because we were being set up in groups of three. What mattered was I was going to spend time with the love of my life.
"Mrs. Lux, where are you?" Mr. Simmons asked loudly making sure his voice was louder than those of the so many murmuring students.
"Am here, Sir," I stood up, straightened out the folds of my uniform, I wanted to be neat and perfect for Gray to see.
"Good. Go to station 4 your partners are already there. I've already given them the recipe."
"Sure, Sir," I bowed, smiling happily to myself as I made my way to cooking station 4.
But when I reached there I was in for the biggest disappointment of my life.
"Ares!!" I screamed in horror.
"Freakin Ares!!"
