THE NIGHT WAS WILD—THE ENTIRE RESORT WAS SURROUNDED BY BLINDING LIGHTS. THE MUSIC WAS BLASTING, ACCOMPANIED BY THE CHATTERING NOISE OF BOTH LAUGHTER AND SHOUTS OF GLEE.
Despite the noise around me, I could still hear my heart pounding loudly. I was being followed by my crazy—no, by my obsessed ex-boyfriend. The same ex-boyfriend who threatened to spread my "sex tape" on social media if I didn't get back together with him.
"Baby… the car's waiting. I know you're here. I can smell you. Come out," a drunk man's voice called. That was him, my ex-boyfriend. Just his voice sent shivers down my spine. Even now, I still couldn't fathom what possessed me to go out with him. Although our relationship lasted for only two weeks, it still counts.
I scanned my surroundings. I was currently hiding behind a bush, looking for an opportunity to escape without being seen by my crazy ex.
It was dark and I could barely see anything. Except for a man standing and drinking in the distance. A sudden urge to ask for help surged through my veins. I had no idea who that man was—but judging by his build, I knew that if we got into an aggressive situation, he could defend me.
So with all my strength, I got up on my feet and rushed towards the stranger. I lost my balance, probably because of my sudden run. And I was still wearing high-heeled sandals that were four inches tall. Thanks to that man's sturdy chest, I only bumped into him and didn't fall completely. Because if I did, I probably wouldn't just be kissing the ground right now. I might even eat it. Gross.
"What the hell, Miss—”
"H-Help me. Please. My ex-boyfriend has been chasing me—” I stopped talking when the man suddenly laughed. It was a short yet gentle laugh.
"Well, you should be proud. That only means someone thinks that you're worth chasing for," he said calmly. He then drank the entire liquor on his shot glass with a smirk on his face.
"Y-You don't understand. He's crazy obsessed with me! He's dangerous and—”
"BABY! I KNOW YOU'RE HERE! I CAN SMELL YOU! IF YOU DON'T COME OUT, I SWEAR YOU WON'T LIKE WHAT I'LL DO!”
I closed my eyes tightly, praying that Tyler wouldn't see me.
I was about to run away again because it seemed like I wouldn't get any help from this man, but he suddenly grabbed my hand. He pulled me closer to him.
"Was that him?" he asked.
I nodded urgently. I was about to run again, but his grip on my hand tightened.
"Do you have your visa with you?"
I was confused by his question. "Huh?" was all I could answer, shocked. Yes, I always carry my visa. It's in my wallet along with my other IDs. But what does my visa have to do with me asking him for help to hide?
"I said, do you have your visa with you?" the stranger repeated.
Even though I was confused, I just nodded. "Y-Yes—"
I couldn't speak anymore because the man suddenly pulled me away. He threw the shot glass he was holding somewhere. I had no choice but to go with him. Should I struggle, when Tyler was behind me and I could see him following us? His eyes were red as usual. They were even blazing.
"C-Can we please hurry? I-I don't care where you take me. J-Just please, get me out of here," I pleaded.
He glanced at me and smirked. He saw Tyler chasing after us, but he didn't seem the least bit nervous.
"Chill out. I'll take care of you," he said before winking.
He pulled me into a dark place. It was spacious. Based on what I felt under my feet, it was grassy.
"What are we supposed to do in here—" I didn't finish my sentence when the wind suddenly picked up. A loud sound coming from above followed. When I looked up, I saw where the strong wind and loud noise were coming from. Above us was a huge aircraft that seemed to be landing right before our eyes.
