“Happy birthday to you”I heard Julieta’s voice as the door of my study opened.

She was holding a cake.

“Happy birthday to you.”Max and Pedro followed her in and they continued to sing.

Julieta placed the cake on my table when they finished singing.

“Happy birthday,Mr Dominguez.”

“Thank you…thank you.”I said,sitting up and offering them a small smile.

“Come on,make a wish and blow off the candle.”Max urged.

I eyed him and he quickly looked away.I was barely sitting here and trying to appreciate their gestures.

Normally,things like this were pointless to me.

Anyway,I blow off the candle.

“Thanks,everyone.Julieta,please go keep the cake,I’ll have a taste of it later.”I instructed.

She smiled at me and nodded.

“I want a taste of it now.”Max let out,excitedly as he followed Julieta out of the study.

I glanced up at Pedro waiting for him to leave as well.I have to get back to work.

“Pedro?”I called,questioningly.

He cleared his throat and began.”So…I do not know how to say this.I don’t want it to seem as if I’m overstepping my boundaries.You know I have great respect for you,sir.”

I leaned against my chair.

I had great respect for Pedro as well.

He may be my butler but he was the one of the few people I could trust as well as his wife,Julieta who was my housekeeper.

Max on the other hand was my personal bodyguard.

“Talk to me.”I urged.

“You just turned thirty-two,sir.Since I started working for you ten years ago,I haven’t seen you take any woman,seriously.I mean,you’re at the age where you should be considering marriage.”

I cocked an eyebrow.”Why should I?”

He shrugged.”Because everyone needs a special someone.I mean,for companionship.You must certainly feel alone sometimes.A good wife brings positive changes to a man.You need someone…”

“I do not need anyone,Pedro.”

“You certainly don’t plan of spending the rest of your life alone?”

“I do.And the thought of sharing it with any woman is appalling.”

“But…but what about children?Are you just going to live the rest of your life without having offsprings?”

And that kinda struck something inside of me.

Nobody lives forever and with how hard I’ve worked to achieve everything I have now,I wouldn’t want it to go down the drain.

I want my name ‘Alejandro Dominguez’ to be known for even centuries to come.Yes, that’s how industrious and famous I wanted to be.

I do need a child.

A child to carry on my name.

An heir.

But at the same time,I was an important personality in the society,it’d be scandalous to have a child out of wedlock.

I smirked as an idea occurred to me.

“I will get married,Pedro.”

I saw his face lit up in a smile.

“For a year.”I added.

And then his smile disappeared.”For a year?!”

“Yes.I’ll get married and get her to conceive within a year.After the child is born,I would not need her anymore.”

“But…”

“Find me a wife.”I cut in,flatly.

Getting to Franco’s house,I inputted the passcode and walked in.

“What’s so urgent that you had to see me this early?!”I asked.

He hurried over to me,looking so elated.

I rolled my eyes and sat on the couch.

Franco was my boyfriend and partner in crime.

He finds me clients,get the locations and all that and I do the seduction and duping.

He also takes care of the men who tries to blackmail me after they find out that I had only used them for their money.

“Who is it this time?”I asked.

He must have found a super rich client or something.

“Alejandro Dominguez.”He replied.

I arched an eyebrow.

I knew who Alejandro was.

Who doesn’t?

He was one of the wealthiest man in Mexico.

Franco had considered we dupe him in the past but it was always very hard to get his location.Plus,they were rumors about how ruthless he was.

I honestly didn’t want to cross someone like that.

But I knew Franco wouldn’t be able to stop looking for ways to get to Alejandro.He had a personal vendetta against the billionaire.

They’re actually cousins.

“Franco,we’ve tried several times and we haven’t been able to…”

“This time,it is different.Alejandro is looking for a wife.There is going to be a wife interview at his house next week.”

I laughed.”A wife interview?Who on earth does that?”

“Well,Andro has always been a weird person so it’s no surprise.Mildred,you’ll be going to that interview and no matter what,you have to be chosen.”

“You mean I should marry Alejandro?”

“Yes.Marry him,get him to fall in love with you hopelessly.Find out every one of his secrets.And slowly get him to sign his assets under your name.He has to trust you and love you more than he loves himself and that will be his ultimate downfall.”

I scoffed.”You make it sound so easy.People say he’s a very ruthless,man.”

“Are you scared,Mildred?”

I blinked.

I was a bold and brave woman.

I was scared of nothing.

“No,I just…”

He walked closer to me,placing his hand on my shoulder.

“That man deserves everything he’ll be getting.Remember what he did to my mother,to Bruno.The man is loaded,Mildred,and if we succeed in taking everything from him.We wouldn’t have to live this kind of life anymore.We’d have all the money we can ever wish for in a lifetime.And you don’t have to worry about him coming after us,because he would have nothing to his name.”

Hmm,that sounded enticing.

Alejandro Dominguez was super wealthy.He had the biggest wine brewery in the country.He had a clothing and shoe line,he had an airline.I heard he was into many other things as well.

If I succeed in duping him,I would be swimming in wealth for the rest of my life.

That made me feel giddy.
