ONE
Wedding bells and whistles ....
The church was filled to the brim and infact there was no vacant chairs. Everyone was eager to see the beautiful bride of the mighty Billionaire's son. Rumors had it that she is taller than her husband other said she's shorter. You know how news spread at different directions and dimensions and most people build the stories by themselves.
At the sound of the trumpet, they all muttered amongst themselves. "She's here". They peeked and rose up on their feet as they applauded the bride who walked in majestically with her father and behind her white veil was her faint smile.
Daphney's POV
I was dressed in the most beautiful white gown I've ever seen. It had only one strap with white diamonds attached to the flare,it was so long that some of my bridesmaids had to hold it for me. It sparkled as soon as it made contact with the lights in the church. Those ones I saw in the movies were great but none compared to mine . I walked down the aisle with my father. The gracious audience smiled and waved at me, Including his parents. I feigned my smile . My feet were cold despite the tight high heeled shoes Mrs Hill insisted I wore. As we approached the altar, Dad gave my hand to Richmond as he took it,I felt like squeezing his hand but I maintained my pride.
I'm about do the last thing I've ever wanted in life. Commitment!!!!....geez! that's the last thing I wanna do, I prefer being committed to my work than to be committed to this capital letter "M", called marriage.
I wanna wake up from the nightmare of getting married, but it is clinging unto me.
I'll make sure this spoilt brat, Richmond Hill regrets his decision of marrying me. He thinks he can get everything he wanted, but not me.
"Do you, Daphney Krenshaw, take Richmond Hill as your lawful wedded husband,to love and to cherish ,in health and in sickness, till death do you part? ".
The priest said looking deep into my hazel eyeballs. "Am I really ready for this? I swallowed hard as I was sweating behind my white veil.
"I do". I said looking at Richmond's blue eyeballs . Our eyes met and I felt this disgust towards him. He smiled when he heard what I said.
"Why is he smiling? I'll deal with you later. I scoffed.
"Do you Richmond Hill, take Daphney Krenshaw as your lawful wedded wife to love and to cherish in health and in sickness till death do you part? Said the priest.
"I do". He said.
He even said "I do" . You'll regret your foolish decision Richmond Hill.
"Now open her veil". The priest said and he did. Our eyes met and I couldn't deny the fact that he's handsome but that's none of my business. I don't love him and never will I,this is just business.
"I pronounce you as husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride".
"OMG...! now is that stupid part that is always shown in movies". I moved forward and kissed him a bit. He even licked his lips .
"That's too short, another round". A voice shouted from the crowd and I know whose voice it is. My very own friend,Anita. That babe is a pain in the ass and I'll surely deal with her for this .
I thought as he leaned over, holding me by my waist .
"wait! what's he trying to do?my eyes widened .
He leaned over and kissed me. I was so shocked. I couldn't be carried away by a mere and ordinary kiss. I stepped on him when he bit my lip,he winced in pain.
I gave him this dirty look as we both laughed so as not to attract the audience.
