Woah! How far do these monkeys intend to chase me? Don't they plan to take a break at least?
I'm hungry. It's been almost an hour since I started fighting with them and my body has been feeling tired.
I sighed and stopped running. I don't think they will stop pestering me until they experience more physical pain. I faced them and put my two hands inside my jacket pocket.
They also stopped a few steps away from me. There is also a trace of fatigue in them but determination to take what they need from me and get even is what makes them keep fighting though they all look like dogs catching their breath.
"You have no escape now!" Jax, the leader of these monkey pests, had a look of intense anger on his face. "Give us what's in your pocket so no one gets hurt anymore."
"Shut up you monkey!" I snort at him. "It's still clear in the light of that moon that I won the fight. That tarsier man of yours can't even stand after our fight."
"You cheated to win so give it to us!" he shouted at me.
"Hey! Bastard!” I kept pointing at him. His face was too thick to insult me. "You said that there were no rules in that fight and now you are saying that I cheated? Well, you are an idiot!" I took off my hood and stretched. "That's enough chatter. Pests! You're just making me hungry. Let's finish this." I was the first to rush to them.
I don't care if there are many of them and they are all men. Well, they're just fluff. I can handle them.
My plan was to put ugly Jax first since I am sure that his companion will not be going to fight anymore if their leader gets down. But before I could get close to him, two of his men immediately blocked me and greeted me with a punch.
But of course, I won't just rush in if I can't fight them either. I stepped right with my right foot and stepped backward with my left foot. And before their fists hit me, I bent my body backwards.
There was a trace of surprise on their faces so I just grinned at them and quickly put my left hand on the cement and kicked them in the face at the same time.
I think it was too strong because they actually fell down immediately and lost consciousness.
I just shook my head and stood up. I think it will be a long battle before I can eat.
Jax's other men also rushed to me. They attacked one after the other, so I couldn't do anything but defend or match their punches because one wrong move, my beautiful face will surely be hit.
I was stopped when I bumped into someone behind me. I'm sure it is not a wall because we are in the middle of the road.
It's early morning and there are no cars passing by here since the sun has still not risen.
"Damn it! I just finished fighting one group a while ago and here I am again." I heard him say that he was behind me. "Hey, girl. Those monkey friends of yours involved me in your fight so you will have to take responsibility for it later."
I slightly turned to him but I didn't see his face because, of course, he had his back on me and he was also wearing a hooded jacket. But based on his voice, I can tell that this one is a guy.
"So, get ready,” he said and started attacking the other group of Jax’s men on his side.
I just shrugged my shoulders and focused on my opponents again.
Maybe I was too fortunate because even though we were fighting right outside a famous fast food restaurant, there was no one calling the cops.
But seriously? What is in this place? In the place where I came from, whenever there is a group of people fighting in the middle of the road, police are coming right away.
But here? Nah!
I have been fighting since I arrived here but there is no one wasting their time to report these incidents.
I am not really from here. I just went to this city because of the street fighting event that I attended earlier where I happened to face Jax and his men in the arena. And that is the reason why he was chasing me earlier.
He thought that I cheated because I managed to defeat his men with just one punch in the face so he is determined to get the prize money for me.
I think after fifteen minutes the last of Jax's men are finally defeated. They were all lying on the ground where some of them are unconscious while the others are awake but don't have the strength to get up again.
It was only Jax who remained unscratched and standing.
I was about to approach him, at least to compensate for my tiredness now but this hooded man has already preceded me.
He came to him and without saying a word, he punched Jax right in the face causing him to lose consciousness. When Jax fell on the ground, that is when that man turned to me
I took some steps back and immediately alerted myself. I know that he helped me fight these men but I don’t know him so I still need to be careful. Especially when I saw how good he is at fighting.
"You don't intend to run away from me, do you?" he said.
"And who the hell are you?" I still have no idea what he looks like. He was still wearing the hood of his jacket in his head and the lights are not that strong to where we are standing right now.
"I am just some handsome man that planned to eat at this fast food restaurant but got caught up in your mess." There is a trace of annoyance in his voice but I don’t really pay any attention to it.
Not that I, myself, involved him in my mess. He was just unfortunate. You know, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"Oh, what now?" I stretched again and then put both my hands in my pockets. "Blame those ugly monkeys who involved you even though you are just some passerby. They are the ones who should pay you.”
"Well, I am not really asking for your opinion." Before I could even turn my back on him, he grabbed me by the arm and pulled me into the fast food restaurant. "Let’s go inside and buy me some food. I am really hungry after that mess of yours."
"And why would I do that, anyway?" I was trying to resist because I don’t even know this man.
"Because those are probably the back-up of our enemies." He pointed to something on the road and that's where I saw Jax's back up group running towards us.
