Shattered Rivalries

A Teen Romance / Suspense Drama

Khrystyna Clemons and Tanya Wilkins have been rivals since middle school, vying for the cute boy in class. Now that they are in high school, they are once again competing for the same boy, Marshall Watkins. But in all the drama, they don't see the real damage being done by Jerry Chandler, who decides to strike back after being bullied by Khrystyna and Tanya, and the other classmates throughout the years.

Chapter 1 — The First Day Back

Junior year begins at Westbrooke High, and the rivalry between Khrystyna Clemons and Tanya Wilkins reignites instantly. Ever since middle school, the two girls have competed over grades, popularity, cheerleading spots, and especially boys. This year, the center of their attention is Marshall Watkins — captain of the basketball team, charming, handsome, and newly single.

Marshall enjoys the attention at first, but the constant tension between Khrystyna and Tanya quickly becomes exhausting. Meanwhile, Jerry Chandler, a quiet classmate mocked for years because of his clothes, stutter, and awkward personality, watches from the sidelines as the girls publicly humiliate him during lunch.

Chapter 2 — Competition Season

Khrystyna joins the student council because Marshall mentions he likes girls who are “involved.” Tanya immediately signs up too. Their competition becomes so intense that their friends begin choosing sides.

Jerry tries to participate in class discussions, but Khrystyna imitates his stutter, causing the classroom to erupt in laughter. Tanya records the moment and secretly posts it online. Jerry becomes the subject of cruel memes across the school.

That night, Jerry begins writing in a notebook titled Payback.

Chapter 3 — Marshall’s Attention

Marshall spends time with both girls but begins noticing how cruel they can be to others. He especially dislikes the way they treat Jerry, though he says nothing.

During a football game, Khrystyna and Tanya sabotage each other repeatedly. Tanya hides Khrystyna’s cheer uniform, while Khrystyna spreads a rumor that Tanya failed a chemistry test.

Jerry overhears classmates mocking him again. When Marshall offers him a small act of kindness by helping pick up his dropped books, Jerry becomes obsessed with the idea that Marshall is the only decent person in school.

Chapter 4 — Secrets and Rumors

Anonymous gossip posts begin appearing on social media, exposing embarrassing secrets about students. Nobody knows who is behind the account.

Tanya’s fake designer handbag is exposed online. Khrystyna’s old middle-school suspension record is leaked next. The rivalry intensifies as each girl blames the other.

Jerry secretly enjoys watching the chaos unfold. For the first time in years, he feels powerful.

Marshall begins distancing himself from both girls and instead befriends Maya Torres, a smart, artistic student who avoids drama entirely. Khrystyna and Tanya become jealous.

Chapter 5 — The Homecoming Disaster

Homecoming approaches, and both girls are determined to win Marshall’s attention. Tanya asks Marshall to the dance publicly during lunch, but Khrystyna interrupts with a dramatic dance performance of her own.

Marshall rejects both invitations, saying he wants “a peaceful night.”

Humiliated, the girls blame each other again. Meanwhile, Jerry hacks the school’s sound system during the dance and plays humiliating audio clips of students bullying him over the years. Panic spreads across the gym.

Though nobody knows that Jerry is responsible, fear begins spreading through the school.

Chapter 6 — Cracks Beneath the Surface

Khrystyna starts noticing strange things: threatening notes in her locker, altered photos online, and anonymous texts saying, “How does it feel to be laughed at?”

Tanya receives similar messages.

Marshall finally confronts the girls about their behavior. He tells them their obsession with popularity has hurt people, especially Jerry. Neither girl wants to admit he is right.

Meanwhile, Jerry grows angrier after overhearing students call him “psycho.” His revenge fantasies become darker.
