Runaway Bride: The Billionaire’s Possession

连载中

简介
Four years ago, they had agreed to register their marriage. But on that fateful day, she was publicly humiliated in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau by his so-called fiancée, while he vanished without a trace. Heartbroken and desperate, she chose to leave. Four years later, they crossed paths again. This time, he cornered her, demanding to know why she had left without a word. The irony wasn’t lost on her—who was the one who had truly disappeared without explanation? He pinned her beneath him, claiming everything she had with ruthless possession. "Tang Hao, remember this humiliation. I won’t let you get away with it!" "Good," he murmured, his fingers tracing the delicate lines of her face—her brows, her lips, the curve of her ear, the hollow of her collarbone—before trailing lower. His voice was so soft it was almost inaudible, meant only for himself. "Make sure you never let me go for the rest of your life... because I certainly won’t let you escape mine."

Athena sat in the lounge chair of the Civil Affairs Bureau, watching the clock on the wall turn around and around, her mood slowly becoming somewhat uneasy.

Today was the day she and Ronan had agreed to register their marriage, but he had not shown up, and no one answered when she called him.

She began to worry that he had had an accident on the way and went to the door to look around.

Athena had specifically put on a pure white dress that Ronan had given to her. The dress was adorned with delicate lace designs on the chest and skirt, embellished with small white pearls. Her long hair was scooped up into a fluffy bun on top of her head, and she wore light makeup.

She was naturally very beautiful, with fair skin and a slender figure. With this attire, she looked even more sweet and refreshing, attracting attention.

Unknowingly, a light rain had started outside. The cool breeze carrying the rain was chilly on her skin. Athena couldn't help but shiver, and her already uneasy heart sank a little more.

A red sports car sped up and screeched to a halt in front of Athena, who didn't pay it any mind and stepped to the side, continually looking around in the hope that Ronan would appear soon.

Three fashionably dressed young women got out of the car. The woman in the lead had a hostile expression and strutted directly towards Athena.

"Victoria, is that the vixen you told us about?"

The three of them stood in front of Athena. One of them, holding an umbrella, looked her up and down and asked with a scornful tone.

The woman called Victoria didn't say anything, just glared at Athena viciously, her eyes seeming to spit fire.

"She's not all that impressive. Ronan sure has unique taste," another woman covered her mouth and giggled.

Athena had paid no attention to these three until she heard Ronan's name from them, then turned her head towards them with a puzzled look in her eyes.

"Slut, how dare you seduce my man!" Victoria walked right up, and slapped Athena across the face.

Caught off guard, Athena staggered from the blow.

"Who are you? How dare you hit someone?" She held her burning face, her eyes full of fear.

"We hit you!" Victoria lifted her chin arrogantly, her gaze on Athena filled with contempt and disdain.

"A nice little girl, you say you can learn anything you want, but you insist on being a mistress, tsk tsk." The woman holding the umbrella admired her new manicure while clucking her tongue.

"No, I didn't. You must have made a mistake. I have a boyfriend," Athena shook her head incessantly, tears involuntarily welling up in her eyes, she felt both desperate and frustrated.

"Boyfriend? Are you referring to him?" Victoria pulled out a picture from her phone and handed it over.

With a single glance, Athena couldn't believe her eyes. The man in the photo was her boyfriend, Ronan, but who was the woman clinging tightly to him if not the one before her?

"How could this be? How could Ronan be with you?" Athena's heart sunk deep, as if the pouring rain was getting even heavier. She couldn't help but shiver all over.

"Because I am Ronan's fiance," The woman took back her phone, posturing as the superior one, standing high above.

"That's impossible, he said he was going to register with me today. How could he have a fiance?" Athena didn't believe it, they must have made a mistake!

"Haha, don't be stupid. Do you know who Ronan is? How could he really marry you? He was just fooling around!" The woman holding the umbrella seemed to have heard an incredible joke, almost laughing herself to tears.
