"Yihan, happy birthday!"

"You sleep at ease, and when you wake up, Papa will gift you a big surprise!"

Today was Bai Yihan's birthday. Her father specifically took her to a five-star hotel for a grand feast. After eating to her heart's content, she comfortably dozed off on the back seat of the car. However, when she woke up, she found herself in a gloomy graveyard.

Shocked, she exclaimed, "Dad, where are we!?"

No sooner had her words fallen than a group of men in black suits surrounded the car. Without uttering a word, these people briskly pulled her out of the car.

"Who are you? Why have you caught me?" Bai Yihan struggled mightily.

The icy wind in the graveyard made her body tremble, and cold sweat kept breaking out on her back. She yelled towards her father's car, "Dad, save me..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she was forced to kneel on the ground.

There were a few lines of words etched on the black tombstone, along with a black-and-white photo of a young man.

"Kowtow."

Upon this commanding order, her head was thrust down, heavily knocking on the ground. A surge of intense pain rushed over her, and she felt dizzy for a moment.

With blood trickling down her forehead...

Those men completely ignored her fright and helplessness, pressing her to perform multiple sharp kowtows.

A black-and-white photo?

A graveyard?

Kowtowing?

And the red coffin in front of her...

All these involuntarily remind her of the scenes of ghost marriage from movies. Yet a ghost marriage is for the deceased. She is still very much alive!

It's because she's alive, her fear becomes deeper.

Her long hair is pulled up. She's forced to raise her head to look at the man in the red coffin. Even though his eyes are closed and his face is incredibly pale, he's the most handsome man Bai Yihan has ever seen in her life.

A noble lady then steps forward and declares her death sentence word by word, "Bai Yihan, this is your husband Bo Lichen. From today, you are married to him in a ghost marriage. Remember to stay faithful to him when you join him in the afterlife."

Only then, Bai Yihan realizes too late that the man in the red coffin is Bo Lichen!

The President of Bo Group, the dream lover of countless girls!

His real-life appearance is ten thousand times better than what's shown on television. Such a man, if was still alive, she'd have wanted to marry him on the spot, to consummate their marriage straightaway.

But he's dead now. What are the consequences of marrying a dead person?

Doesn’t that mean…she has to die here too!

She's only eighteen this year. She still has plenty of time to enjoy her future. Why does she have to die here?

To die next to a strange man?

"I won't marry him!"

"Help! Who can save me?"

Unfortunately, no one was moved. They just shoved her, wanting to stuff her into a coffin.

Crying for mercy, she pleaded, "Can you spare me? I can still marry Bo Lichen while alive. Can I spend the rest of my life in this cemetery without ever leaving?"

Madame Bo looked at her impatiently and said, "Bai Yihan, I’ve paid one billion to keep you alive, you should be content! Now, will you get into the coffin on your own or do I need to have someone put you in?"

"What one billion?" Bai Yihan turned to her father. Seeing his unnatural look, she understood. He had indeed accepted the money.

So the 'big surprise' he mentioned meant sending her to death!

She cried out, "Dad, how could you do this? I am your biological daughter. I promise to respect and obey you in the future. Please take me away, I don’t want to die!"

Bai Yihan cried helplessly. Her tears and blood mixed together, smearing her delicate face and making her look incredibly wretched.

Yet, her father was standing stony-faced, showing no sign of rescuing her.

Was this really her father? It seemed more appropriate to call him her enemy.

She glared at her father with resentment. If there were to be an afterlife, he would certainly be her enemy! The same goes for everyone who pushed her to this point - none of them deserve to die peacefully!

"It's time. Throw her in," Madame Bo said emotionlessly.

Despite Bai Yihan's resistance, she was thrown directly into the coffin.

With a thud, the coffin lid was heavily closed.

The coffin was rather large, with two red pillows placed side by side.

Bai Yihan lay weakly on the pillow, turning her head to look at the man next to her. He was blessed with naturally good looks, initially, she thought that lying next to a dead body would be frightening…

Surprisingly, she found herself wanting to reach out and touch the man.

Despite his cold body, his skin was incredibly smooth, it felt as smooth as creamy jade to the touch.

After they buried the coffin, they were going to build the tomb, layering cement over the coffin, and adorning the cement with beautiful pieces of marble.

She would suffocate; it seemed to be her predestined fate…

It was said that Bo Lichen died in a car crash, and the doctors, after declaring him brain dead, ceased his life-support system.

This was already a well-known piece of news throughout City M.

The rich were often regarded as the most superstitious. It seemed likely that the Bo Family had sought advice from a fortune teller and chose her, the unfortunate one, to accompany Bo Lichen in death. She was truly struck by a terrible streak of bad luck…

In the darkness, she carelessly bumped into a jade pendant on Bo Lichen's waist.

The pattern on the jade pendant felt strangely familiar to her. After thinking carefully, wasn't it identical to the birthmark on her arm?

What are the odds?
