Ross Geller knew that when he nianchu took the initiative to call her, it definitely wouldn't be good news.

Yet, she still went without hesitation. She loved taht man too much and ignored herself.

As night just fell, the extravagant villa blazed with artificial light.. The engagement diamond ring in Maria’s hand, glaring dazzlingly under the lights.

Yet even the most dazzling diamond couldn't equate to half of what was in front of her.

"Divorce agreement, sign it," Ross said casually, later turning his head to lazily light a cigarette, appearing as calm as if the document before her was nothing more than a cheap contract not worth mentioning.

Maria’s hands under the table clenched tightly. Her heart ached unbearably, but a polite and generous smile remained on her face: “Ross, what does this mean?"

Ross with an indifferent expression, flicked his cigarette and coldly spoke, “Our marriage was grandmother's command. Now that grandmother is dying, we should put an end.”

"But grandmother is not dead yet!" His words infuriated Maria, "Grandmother is still here,It,s monstrous you can say that.

Ross turned his gaze, gloomy yet sharp, as if to pierce through Maria, “Is my words going too far, or is my desire for a divorce going too far?”

Maria was taken aback and lost her momentum under his piercing gaze.

"Both of them," she turned away to avoid his gaze, seemingly gaining some confidence, "And besides, I won’t agree to divorce. Even grandmother won't agree too."

"That's not up to you." Ross extinguished his cigarette, his eyes cold and ruthless, “Rachel is already pregnant, I want to give her a rightful identity. Maria, be sensible, don't make things look too disgracefully."

Rachel Buffay was pregnant?

The news was like a huge rock thrown into Maria’s heart, causing a tremendous uproar.

Her fingers trembling, she clenched her fist tighter. Her fingernails dug into the palm of her hands, the pain unbearable.

"She's pregnant..." she murmured. After the initial heartache, anger and unwillingness surged up.

She looked up at him with angry eyes, "She's pregnant, It's none of my business? A mistress who break my marriage, she deserves to be nameless and powerless!"

Ross's face suddenly turned cold, shivering all over. "Maria, it was you who forced me to marry you! If anyone is a mistress, it should be you!"

That's right, five years ago, she joined forces with her grandmother to let him to marry her.

She originally thought that love would arise over time, and that the man would eventually develop genuine feelings for her. She just understood now that her forced marriage had simply pushed this man further away.

Five years marriage, Ross never looked at her directly and furthermore, openly cheated. The vicious tricks Rachel played behind her back let her humiliated and spurned by everyone.

Now, with her grandmother on her deathbed and Rachel pregnant, he wants to kick her out under the pretext of divorce.

Why should she endorse their happiness? Who can she appeal to regarding these five years of bitterness and tears she endured?

She gave a desolate smile and slowly stood up.

"But for now, I am your wife. As for the divorce, I will never agree."

Now she wanted to cut off their last means of survival, to make them both being defeated and wounded.

"Ross Geller!" He lowered and he yell out her name angrily, as if he couldn't pull her to pieces.

Maria firmly clenched her fists and turned to leave without looking back.

"Stop right there!" Ross was not about to let her off that easily, and grabbed her wrist with a force that almost crushed her bones. "You must sign the divorce agreement, or else we'll see each other in court! Five years of married life, I have never touched you!"

Maria's eyes dulled and she gazed at him blankly , "OK, why don't you take it to court and let everyone in New york City know about your infidelity over the past five years!”

His rage burst forth, his glare at Maria sharply as daggers, "You..."

"Ross.” A soft and sweet feminine voice broke through the tense atmosphere between him and Maria.

Rachel, adorned in a luxurious dress, gently descended the stairs. The elegant smile on her face as she took hold of Ross’s arm diminished his temper a little; only in her presence could he calm down.

With a satirical smile, Maria forcefully ripped her hand free from Ross's grasp, clutching her purse tightly in her attempt to leave.

"Maria." Rachel called after her, her voice courteous and gentle, "Ross and I are going to a banquet now, so we will not be able to drive you back. Please, be careful."

This woman was always so elegant and graceful in front of Ross, but privately, she was a evil woman.

Chuckling, Maria turned back with a significant smile and said, “Rachel, you're still so beautiful. I hope you can always remain this beautiful in my husband's eyes. Just be careful not to let him see your true colors."

Rachel's eyes opened wide, casting a puzzled look at Maria before turning to Ross, feigning confusion.

Ross placed an arm around her shoulder, consoling her, "Don't mind her ramblings."

Coldly glancing at the affectionate couple before her, Maria tightened her grip on her purse, forcing herself to look away. Standing straight, she made her way out.

She held her breath until she was seated in the car, only then allowing herself to relax.

Leaning back in her seat, she was completely drained.

Pregnant, Divorce.

These two words were like a fish bone, stuck in the throat of Maria, suffocating and uncomfortable.

With a bitter smirk, she rested her head on the steering wheel, swallowing the bad pill that this marriage and love had given her alone.

Suddenly, a car horn rang in her ears, and the car lights came on. It was Ross driving out.

Rachel, holding her luxurious dress, walked delicately to the front of the car. However, she didn't open the car door on her own, she waited for Ross to get out of the car and gently help her into the car.

Before the car door could be closed, Rachel extended her delicate arm, clasping it around Ross's neck, and delivered a sweet kiss, their posture extremely intimate and sweet.

Maria's hand clutching the steering wheel turned pale, her face was even more pallid and wretched.

A pampering smile framed Ross's face as he gently closed the car door.

He turned around, glanced over at Maria, his eyes full of disdain.

As if to say, why isn't this woman gone yet, why is she still here being a fifth wheel ?

Maria turned her head stiffly, her cheeks felt cold. She touched them sluggishly, only to find them wet and cold.

She had shed tears without realizing it.
