Rue tilted her arm on the side of the bed, it dangled on the edge. Still fast asleep, she had moved away from home with her mother’s money and had no plans of finding a job because they were wealthy at home, but her mom cut her off.

　　Woken up by a knock, she sat up and completely ignored the loud bang, she already knew it would probably be the land lord coming to irritate her, she just kept quiet pretending to be asleep, or not home. She had been living without paying rent for 4 months now, always locking her door and pretending not to be there but this time around she heard a key go inside the door key hole. She was ahead of him, she always kept the key inside the door, which she didn’t realize made it obvious she’s inside,

　　“ Rue, you were suppose to be gone four months ago!” The land lord shouted out, he really was going as low as embarrassing her like that, like she knew but did he really have to?

　　She had gone partying the previous night so she was still feeling extremely woozy, getting up from her bed to face her demons. She got out the bed covers and went to the door, unlocking the key. With her mascara smudged and foundation looking cakey, she opened the door and hanged on the side of the door,

　　“ Good morning, how are you today?” She calmly said, barely being able to keep her eyes open.

　　“ That’s not going to work Rue, you’ve been living here rent free for far too long.”

　　“ What?!” She gasped, she wasn’t the best actor, the land lord only squinted and nodded in disapproval. “ Okay okay fine, I thought my mother was covering the rental, that’s the honest truth.” She said.

　　“ No it isn’t, I slipped notices under the door, emailed you and messaged you and each time, and the messages said read.” He said, folding his arms, she kept digging the hole deeper for herself.

　　“ Oh yes! That explains it, my phone got stolen.” She says, just then it starts ringing on her bed, she awkwardly looks at him, “ I got a new one though.” She adds on.

　　“ I want you out tomorrow.” He bluntly says.

　　“ But-” Rue chocks on her words as she vomits on him, she whips her mouth and awkwardly blinks at him.

　　He looks down in disgust, “ Scratch that, I want you out TODAY!” He shouts out, before storming off.

　　Rue shuts the door and drags herself to bed,

　　“ Oh God...” she groans, she was really feeling sick, just then her phone rings again and it’s her mom. She stretches her arm and picks up her phone, clicking to place it on loud speaker.

　　“ Rue!” She shouts, Rue tilts away from her phone,

　　“ Don’t shout please...” she says in a rough and low voice.

　　“ Don’t tell me i shouldn’t shout, you haven’t paid rent in four months.”

　　“ No that’s you, I haven’t even been eating well because you haven’t been sending me money.”

　　“ Come home Rue, clearly the life you want doesn’t want you.” Her mother said, dropping her before she could even reply.

　　She had no choice now, she really couldn’t be staying here for free any more, and it seems her mother wasn’t whiling to pay for her lifestyle, thank God she offered her to come home, that’s really been her plan all along. She couldn’t possibly rock up at home with bags, that would seem like she failed or something, it’s better if she gets called back so whenever her mom wants to rub it in, she’ll just say she’s the one who told her to come back home, cause she missed her or something.

　　She got off the bed, and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Taking off her clothes and running herself a nice cold shower. She curled her body and went inside, sucking up how immensely cold the water was, so it could wake her up. She was feeling a little weak but better than before. The water drops from the shower were running down her body gently, every inch of her body. She pressed on the shower wall with her one hand, angling herself so it would hit her back. She was so tired and lazy, she didn’t even feel like doing that whole bathing with soap process.

　　She got out the shower, leaving puddles behind and walked to her phone, scrolling through her contact list so she could message her mom,

　　“ Please request a car to fetch me, but I’ll tell you when.” She said. Her mom was already typing, they had a weird relationship but they understood each other. All her mom wanted for her was to be independent, but she didn’t see why she needed to if she comes from money.

　　“ Must I do everything for you, Rue?” Her mother replied, Rue put her hand on her hip, thinking yes in her head but typed,

　　“ Okay I’ll request but please don’t leave me hanging when I get there, I won’t have the money to pay.”

　　“ Since you said please, I won’t.” Her mom said, she smiled and locked her phone. Walking to grab a towel and wiping down her naked body.

　　She placed the towel on her bed, and sat on top of it, “ back to my boring life, the suffering beings.” She said, throwing herself on the bed.
