Before she was born, Camille's dad, Joshua Dickinson made a vow to his wife, Laila Mathews that he would always and forever be there for her and their unborn little princess, and that he would never let anything bad come their way so they'd feel dismayed.
Hearing Joshua speak in a manner that Laila thought of as sincere and beautiful, gave her a lot of hope that eventually her husband would once and for all shun away from his smoking and drinking habits, and bring all of his focus on his unborn child and her, Laila.
On that day, August 11, 2008, at St.Jonas' hospital, where Laila had been admitted and monitored until her time of delivery was due, they held hands romantically and smiled at each other widely which resulted in a long impeccable kiss.
"I love you with all of my heart and I vow never to hurt you," he touched on his wife's belly and continued " and will always be by your side." They both smiled and kissed again.
It all seemed to Laila Mathews that Josh had already started trekking on the right path. Thank you, Lord! She said mildly in her head. She was happy deep inside.
After a few days of quitting, Josh had returned to his old vile habits. He just couldn't stop. It had aggravated. Laila knew about it because Becky made her aware of the truth. And when she needed to talk some sense into his weak head, he wouldn't show up at the hospital.
All Laila could do was moan and blame herself for not making the perfect decision—of marrying someone she thought was okay. That someone to her was a smoker and a drunkard and a good-for-nothing piece of thrash. The tears crawled out of her soft blue eyes, leaving two whitish strokes on both her cheeks. She cried until her eyes turned ruby red.
Laila spent the remaining seven months out of the nine grieving and thinking deeply about her late husband. You hurt me, Josh. You vowed and went against your vow. She thought briefly.
Though she hated her husband for all the bad things he's done to himself and his family, she still couldn't erase his visage from her memory. And at night, she would turn her phone on and listen to his lovely voicemails until she fell asleep.
She was weak and it wasn't helping in the condition that she found herself. Becky should have been silent about Josh's atrocious condition. But what comrade would Laila label her if she found out herself? She would call her a traitor, all of the bad names one could ever think of.
Becky didn't want to put herself in a tight corner. She loves Laila and wouldn't want to break their world of friendship.
After giving birth to Camille, Laila let go of her ghost. And before she died, she and the nurse that helped her throughout her stay at the hospital spoke.
Holding Keisha's hand, she began softly: "promise me you'll look after my little girl when I am gone. Don't let her feel like an orphan because she is not. I want you to tell her how much we loved her. Promise me!"
"I will. I promise you to take care of your little princess." Keisha white said sadly. Laila died holding tightly to her hand.
Camille grew up not knowing her parents. She had nobody to call family; nobody really stayed and showed her true love.
At eight years old, she was adopted by Lady Morgana. A creation she would describe as cruel and monstrous. She was a pain in her ass. Lady Morgana only felt happy for her whenever she came home with money in her pocket.
"Oh, my sweet, sweet Camille. You are such a beauty and I have made not no blunder bringing you into this family." She would say and hug her. Behind that affection was deep hate. If she hated Camille so much, why the hell would she adopt her? To make her a money machine? A slave? Or what?
Three years after adopting Camille, Lady Morgana kicked the bucket and the cause of her death was a mystery until now. Some townsfolk said she died out of a disease attack; others speculated that Laila murdered her for her assets.
Although she hated Lady Morgana, she would never hurt her. She wished that she was alive. Now that she's dead and gone, they will eventually send her out of the house. Where would she go? She had nobody. Lady Morgana made a will before her demise and Camille wasn't a part of it. How vile!
"...well, there's absolutely nothing I can do to help. I give you up to a month to move out. Sorry." A tall man with a thick dark mustache that is curved at the ends spoke.
Before Camille could grumble or explain explicitly to him that she had nowhere else to go, he was gone. Rode away in a range rover. You people are the same. Evil! She thought.
She thought of death. Happiness was far away from her the way God is distant from man. The only place she could call home was about to be taken from her. The only alternative that roamed freely in her head was "suicide." That, at least, she thought would hide her from life's endless pain. She forgot suicide was paving your road to hell. Pain could make people do things so ridiculous.
On the verge of making her thought a reality, out of nowhere, a handsome guy found her. Bobby Mikaelson came her way; showed her profound love and how much he cared. Something that she never felt from childhood until now.
All the vile things she wanted to do disappeared from her head. There she knew love never ran away from her. She was happy. She could smile and sing; she could love and be loved.
Bobby changed her life utterly and the people could see. They fell in love and married and had a wonderful family: three children
a Boy and two girls
. Lovely.
And when she thought the happiness she had found in her life would stay with her forever and ever, the came her greatest fear. She was paranoid and skeptical—something that she didn't want to become because it would stop her from trusting in her husbanddd, and that happened in the short run. Very sad!
The pain that she knew in the past, that she thought she had abandoned a very long time ago, now flashed in her face like a violent tornado wind.
And when she believed it would stay this way forever and ever, there came her greatest fear. She was paranoid and skeptical. Something that she didn't want to be because it would make her stop trusting in her husband which happened in the short run. She felt that Bobby was cheating and she needed to confirm her feelings.
