All my life I’ve always been the damsel in distress. Me being the one who is always saved feels like I’m just a heavy excess baggage they gotta bring anywhere.
I hate it when people pity me for breaking plates or scratching my nose. I don’t need pity. I don’t need help. But the fact that I can’t stand on my knees just makes me lessen my pride and accept their help.
But I won’t just let things stay this way.
I’m Akira Elenor Grace. And this will be a story of the damsel in distress.

“Why can’t you just let a single day pass without you and your ass kicked, Aki?!” It was Christa’s loud voice. She grabbed a cotton and an alcohol from our medical kit before crossing our distance.
“I told you, they just came near me randomly then they punched me.” I said. I laid my head on the couch.
“Because you messed with them on the first place, Akira.” She sat down i front of me and put a little alcohol in the cotton. She wiped it near my lip where I got a scar.
“I didn’t mess with them, Christa. I told you...”
“You were lucky our professors dismissed us earlier this time. Or else your ass could’ve been kicked at the campus lake.” She gently wiped my lip. I didn’t mutter anything this time.
I really did appreciate Christa’s help. But there’s a part of me dismissing it. I know she just helped me because I was struggling already. I mean, I admit that Melanie’s group was an exhausting one. They really make it hard for people to fight back. I should’ve punched her real hard earlier but I couldn’t.
But Christa- as a typical hero- made her way to save my ass once again. I know, she’s a good friend. We were roommates ever since first year high school up until today, college. She’s a heavy fighter compared to me. I tried being like her but no matter what I do, she keeps on saving my ass.
I’m not actually looking for trouble. What happened earlier was just a mistake I made, that caused a huge commotion between me and Melanie earlier. I was just grabbing the last slice of my favorite egg pie at the cafeteria but then she stole it from me. So I punched her in the face.
See? I ain’t looking for some trouble.
“Promise me to at least stay away from Melanie’s group this time.” She said. She stood up right after she finished wiping my face.
“As if I’d let that happen. I mean, we’re on the same campus Christa. The world is small.” I said, smiling. She glared at me before smacking me ay the head.
“Christa you need to chill!” I said while wincing it pain.
“That’s what you get for getting your ass kicked!” Shouted from the kitchen. I sighed before grabbing the tv remote to watch netflix. I opened my account and watched my favorite anime series. Later on, Christa came back from the kitchen with a bowl of nachos and my favorite chuckie drink.
“Nice.” I smiled at the sight of chuckie near me. She handed me a box. “Thanks.” I said before taking the chuckie and pulling the straw from it.
We ended up finishing the whole season. We watched silently until I heard Christa snoring. I sighed before turning the TV off and letting Christa lay on the couch to sleep. I looked at the clock, it was already 10 pm.
Now that I’ve mentioned it, I remember that I need to meet someone by 11 pm. So I decided to hurry at the shower and take a bath. I made sure that Christa was sleeping really well so I wouldn’t wake her up.
After showering I grabbed my black sweater and pants partnered with leather boots and black cap. I also wore a mask so that no one would notice me as I escape the dorm. Christa would be fuming mad about this but I couldn’t care less of it. Thinking that I might lose a thousand dollar bet means ending my life.
I grabbed my bag before opening the window at our room. I will escape with the window ladder that the dorm has. Tch, I’m an expert when it comes to climbing.
Or maybe.
“Shit!” I muttered a curse when I almost slipped. Damn it! I could’ve died out there.
I exhaled a deep breath before continuing to go down.
When I stepped at the solid floor, I heaved a sigh. Those ladders are giving me a hard time.
I started walking around the campus, trying to not be noticed by the securities who roam around the university every night. It’s already dark in here, good thing I’m sensitive when it comes to vision and hearing.
“You’re late.”
I looked at the man in front of me before looking at my watch and showing it to him. There I saw three men appearing in the shadows.
“I’m not late. You guys are just too early.” I smirked.
“Let’s just get this over with.” The other man exclaimed. I chuckled.
These are my troupe. Grey Sanders, Aidee Forester, and Jamie Scott.
“Common, we’re gonna be late.” Grey said. Tch, impatient as ever.
Wish us luck...
